Top scorer in Ligue 1, Oliver Giroud was on target once again for Montpellier as his side beat Olympique Lyonnais 1-0. The France international was spotted wearing a pair of Puma King SL football boots as he added to his impressive goal tally. The in-form striker had previously been wearing the v1.11, but with the King SL soon to be released, we could see many Puma players switching to the lightweight leather boots. 

Harry Kewell (Melbourne Victory) adidas adiPure 11Pro

While we'll have to wait a little longer to see their Premier League debut, the adidas adiPure 11Pro was making an impression down-under in the A-League. Melbourne Victory favourite Harry Kewell was spotted wearing the new adidas football boots during his sides match with Adelaide United. After previously wearing the Nike Tiempo, adidas look to have made Kewell the Australian face for the new adiPure 11Pro.  

Landon Donovan (Everton) Nike CTR360 Maestri II

Landon Donovan was described as the 'best player on the pitch' by manager David Moyes after Everton's 1-1 away draw to Aston Villa. The American provided the assist for his sides leveller wearing his personalised Nike CTR360 Maestri II football boots as he lined up against LA Galaxy team mate Robbie Keane.

All eyes were on Lionel Messi's footwear as he stepped out onto the Camp Nou turf on Sunday night. The three time Ballon d'Or winner was debuting his golden adizero miCoach football boots in celebration of his recent record-breaking achievement. Personalised with each of his Ballon d'Or wining years and his personal logo, they were certainly the sharpest boots on the pitch!

Nike are going to extra lengths to ensure the upcoming Nike Vapor VIII meets the standards of some its highest profile players. After Cristiano Ronaldo's continued long stint testing the boots, Real Madrid team mate Marcelo has also been given an early taste of Nike's anticipated speed boots. The recognisable glass-fibre outsole was the distinguishing feature on the Brazilians footwear as Real Madrid took on Mallorca.

The African Cup of Nations is ready to deliver a real variety of boot spots over the coming weeks. Tunisia's Mejdi Traoui was the stand out spot from the weekend wearing the well-received Mizuno Morelia Neo football boots as his side took on the Ivory Coast in an international friendly match that both sides used as preparation for this month's tournament.

Paul Scholes' return to Manchester United last week took everyone by surprise, including Nike.
