SoccerBible Gospels - Boot of the Year Awards 2011 - The Winner

After thousands of your votes you, the SoccerBible audience, have voted for your football boot of 2011. The adidas Predator adiPower has been crowned SoccerBible Boot of the Year, after beating the adizero miCoach, Nike Tiempo Legend IV and Nike CTR360 Maestri II in the race for the coveted Gospel award!

The year belonged to the adiPower, since adidas' revamped Predator stormed onto the scene in May 2011. The boot was met with an immediate response and instantly favoured by some of the games most globally renowned players. From the Premier League to your local football league, the adiPower Predator was a real success story.

The adiPower Predator first arrived on the scene at adidas' London launch event that brought together some of the best footballers on the planet. The Old Truman Brewery in East London hosted one of the stand-out events of the year featuring an impressive Predator line-up that included Robin Van Persie, Nani and Kaka.

The immediate response to the adiPower Predator was clear from day one. After receiving over 3,000 Facebook likes on SoccerBible, the boot went on to score a justifiable 9.5/10 in our SoccerBible play-test. The adiPower wasn't goal-shy on the professional scene either, with Robin Van Persie becoming Europe's most prolific striker in 2011.

The boots were treated to an impressive array of colourways throughout the year with the successful Blue/Electricity launch release being the pick of the bunch. For the first time the Predator made a significant step away from its iconic Black/White/Red outfit, with attention firmly on modernising the range.

Do you agree with the adidas Predator adiPower being crowned SoccerBible Boot of the Year 2011? What will 2012 hold for the adidas Predator, with another redesign potentially in line? Share your thoughts and join the conversation online.
