Football Stars 'Kick In The Mix” For 2012

Three-time 'World Player of the Year' Leo Messi, Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres are joined by Pepsi MAX s new signings Jack Wilshere, Sergio  Kun  AgÜero and Calvin Harris in the new music-fuelled Pepsi MAX campaign.

Pepsi have announced the launch of its brand new, music-fuelled  Kick In The Mix  campaign, which sees the worlds of music and football collide as the Pepsi MAX global superstars take their moves off the pitch like never before.

The new multi-faceted campaign fuses the speed, flair and tempo of football, together with the energy, rhythm and passion of music. The campaign includes a brand new television commercial which sees the players kick off a game of football on a very different pitch from what they re used to.

Lionel Messi, who is now in his fifth year as a Pepsi MAX athlete said, "Pepsi has always been at the centre of pop-culture. Fusing the game of football with music at a time when dance music is so popular is really exciting. Music is a big part of the game and fan experience, so it feels very natural to bring them together.

Wilshere commented: "Being part of the Pepsi football line-up for the first time is fantastic. I remember watching the Pepsi ads over the years and seeing the legendary names that have been part of Pepsi s football history, so starring in the 2012 campaign is really exciting for me.

AgÜero added: "I had a great time on my first Pepsi shoot working alongside some world-class players. I think this is going to be one of those Pepsi ads that everyone wants to watch over and over again. I can't wait for my fans to see it."

Multi-award winning superstar DJ, Calvin Harris, who joins the iconic footballers in the TVC, has also collaborated with Pepsi MAX to create an exclusive track which will be the official soundtrack to the TVC and 2012 campaign.

Harris commented: "Working with Pepsi on their 2012 campaign has been great. When Pepsi approached me I knew I wanted to make a song that would blend music with football that both fans around the world would love. It's pretty special to personally star in the ad alongside such well known footballers too."
