Global Football Boots Spotting - 12/03/12

Global Football Boots Spotting - 12/03/12

Kick-off your week with the best selection of football boots on show from around the globe! We've cast our eyes over the football world to bring you the best soccer footwear to step foot on pitches from the Premier League to the MLS. Take a look at what boots have made the cut this week. Share your thoughts online.

Paul Pogba (Manchester United) miadidas Predator adiPower

After reportedly signing with Juventus, Paul Pogba was named as a substitute for Manchester United's clash with West Bromwich Albion on Sunday. The French U19 international came on for the final 18 minutes wearing a custom footwear creation in the shape of his very own miadidas adipower Predator. We'd love to see more of these golden boots in the Premier League!

Oswaldo Sanchez (Santos Laguna) Puma PowerCat 1.12

We all loved the triple white Puma PowerCat 1.12 boots when they were released in limited numbers last year, and it seems Oswaldo Sanchez might have been one of the lucky few to get his hands on a pair! The Santos Laguna shot-stopper has either landed a pair of custom white/black PowerCat boots, or alternatively taken a black marker to his all-white Puma's! Whichever it is, a white and black boot is always hard to beat!

Chance Myers (Sporting Kansas City) adidas f50 adizero miCoach

As a US exclusive release, there's been zero player support for the Slime/Metallic Silver/Black adizero miCoach boots across Europe. But now, with the MLS season back in full-flow, Chance Myers has given us our first taste of the stand-out f50 boots in action! There was no hiding place for Chance's cleats that claimed the bootspotting headlines from the RFK Stadium as Kansas City won their opener over D.C. United.

Nigel de Jong (Manchester City) Puma PowerCat 1.12

Nigel de Jong gave his new Blue/White/Orange Puma PowerCat 1.12 football boots their fast taste of Premier League action as Manchester City opened the door for rivals Manchester United to reclaim top spot in the Premier League. Much like Cesc Fabregas, de Jong has become known for having custom sole-plates on his PowerCat boots, and was once again spotted wearing a mixed stud configuration on a King sole-plate.

Todd Howarth (Perth Glory) Nike Super Ligera II

The Nike Super Ligera II isn't available in Europe and primarily features in the Far East, but Perth Glory winger Todd Howarth gave us a glimpse of the k-leather Nike boots during his sides match with the Central Coast Mariners. These boots are Howarth's second Ligera II colourway of 2012, after previously wearing a White/Gold/Black edition!

Ramires (Chelsea) Nike Tiempo Legend IV

Since his arrival at Chelsea, Brazilian midfielder Ramires has been a recognised Nike CTR wearer, but for the London clubs latest game the Chelsea number 7 decided to change things up! Ramires was spotted wearing a pair of Nike Tiempo Legend IV football boots as Chelsea took on Stoke City at Stamford Bridge. We'll be keeping an eye on him to see if this switch is permanent or not.

Ashley Young (Manchester Untied) adidas f50 adizero miCoach

The Premier League champions seem to be hitting top gear at just the right time. One man enjoying a return to top form is Ashley Young who continues to look sharp since his return from injury. The United winger has become one of the lead UK faces for the adizero range and like many professionals, is a fan of the popular Blue/White/Energy f50 colourway!

Kevin Nolan (West Ham) Puma King SL

We can't get enough of the latest Puma King SL colourway and he hope to see more players turn out in them! One of the first players we've spotted to have taken to the field in the Black/Red Puma King SL football boots is West Ham captain Kevin Nolan as his side took on Doncaster Rovers. Another player we're hoping to see in this latest colourway is Arsenal's Mikel Arteta!

Chris Brunt (West Bromwich Albion) Puma PowerCat 1.12

Puma had a busy period last week with the release of new colourways across all silos. The PowerCat was treated to a fresh update with the release of the Blue/White/Orange PowerCat 1.12. Another Premier League player to give the boots some match action was West Brom's Chris Brunt during his sides visit to Old Trafford.

Patrick Zwaanswijk (Central Coast Mariners) Puma v1.11

Another Puma boot to make headlines last week was the darker than usual Charcoal/White/Fluo Peach v1.11 colourway. The boots didn't receive any European action but were on show in the Australian League with Patrick Zwaanswijk wearing the newly released boots during his sides game against Perth Glory.

Bobby Convey (Sporting Kansas City) Nike ID T90 Laser IV

A fan of the boots, but not the colourways? This was obviously the case for Bobby Convey who began his MLS season wearing a fantastic looking pair of Black/White Nike ID T90 Laser IV football boots during his sides game against D.C. United. The Kansas City winger played the majority of last season in the Nike CTR, but looks to have changed things up with some minimal styling for the campaign ahead!
