Global Football Boots Spotting - 26/03/12

Alexis Sanchez (Barcelona) Nike Mercurial Vapor 8

A lot of noise has been made around the new sole-plate and stud configuration of the Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII, so it was a surprise to see Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez sporting the same Vapor 7 FG plate on his new-look Mercurial football boots. Professionals may take a little longer to adjust to the new stud lay-out, that now features just two twin studs at the back of the boot.

Gonzalo Higuain (Real Madrid) Nike T90 Laser IV

After the introduction of the SG Pro Plate to the Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII range, we'd expect Nike to soon make this option available across all four silos. Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuian was in action wearing his new Soar/Black/Silver T90 Laser IV boots equipped with a mixed studded plate. Nike's move to capture the Argentine striker last year looks to be paying off, with Higuian continuing his fine run of form in Spain!

Alex Song (Arsenal) Nike CTR360 Maestri II

Fabregas who? Alex Song is continuing to fill the creative void left by Arsenal's former captain, proving that he's much more than a defensive midfielder. Wearing his new CTR360 Maestri II football boots, the Cameroon international added another inch perfect assist to set up Theo Walcott for the first Premier League goal scored wearing the Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII.

Clemens Fritz (Werder Bremen) Nike Tiempo Legend IV Elite

The Tiempo Legend was another Nike boot to receive a new lick of paint ahead of the weekends action! Clemens Fritz was responsible for one of the boots best colour matches as his paired his new White/Green/Silver Nike Tiempo Legend IV football boots with the Werder Bremen home strip! The Tiempo range remains the only Nike silo to still feature an Elite level boot and Fritz was spotted rocking his SG carbon-fibre equipped cleats!

Frank Lampard (Chelsea) adidas adiPure 11Pro

Frank Lampard finally called time on his adidas adiPure IV football boots after making the overdue switch into adidas' latest 11Pro edition! The Chelsea midfielder, known for wearing white football boots, stepped out in the White/Black/High Energy colourway as his side took on Tottenham in one of the most disappointing derby games of the season. At least it's one less thing on adidas' mind, now that one of the adiPure's most iconic faces is finally sporting the new release!

Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

Cristiano Ronaldo always seems to put in a memorable performance when he debuts a new pair of Nike football boots! For the Nike Vapor VIII it was no exception, with the Real Madrid goal machine becoming the fastest player ever to reach 100 goals in the Spanish League by scoring a brace against Real Sociedad. That's another record for the Portuguese captain and not a bad debut for his new boots!

Jean-Baptiste (Portland Timbers) adidas Predator SL

A Predator SL spot is always worth a shout out! The MLS always seems to be at the heart of most Predator SL sightings, with the latest coming from Portland Timbers rookie Andrew Jean-Baptiste. The Black/Warning boots were one of the best colourways to hit the range but like all Predator SL football boots, has been limited to on-pitch appearances!

Wayne Routledge (Swansea) adidas f50 adizero miCoach

Swansea's Wayne Routledge has updated his adizero collection with the latest White/Energy/Black colourway as he was spotted wearing the well-matched boots during his sides match with Everton. They havn't received any player-support from adidas, with their high-profile roster instructed to wear other colourways. Even so, Routledge becomes one of the first Premier League players to be spotted in the well-received f50 boots!  

Ryo Miyaichi (Bolton Wanderers) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

After tweeting SoccerBible a picture of his new Nike Vapor VIII football boots as part of our #FridayFanGallery, Bolton's Ryo Miyaichi put in another impressive performance for his on-loan club. The Arsenal youngster has already become a recognised face of the Mercurial line, known for wearing black laces with his Vapor's. Once again, Ryo continued with his customisation - a look that gets the thumbs-up from us!

Saer Sene (New England Revolution) Nike Mercurial Vapor III

Saer Sene has worn a variety of football boots throughout his playing career. The former Bayern Munich striker, now playing for MLS side New England Revolution, scored his first MLS goal on his first shot in the first minute of play wearing a pair of retro Vapor III Nike football boots! Having recently worn the Superfly III and CTR360 Maestri II, it's a bizarre choice of footwear for the French forward.  

Mobido Diakite (Lazio) adidas adipure IV

Lazio tightened their grip on third place in Serie A thanks to Mobido Diakite's headed goal two minutes from time that saw the Biancoceleste claim three important points. The French defender was in action wearing a bespoke pair of blacked-out adidas adiPure IV football boots that featured a customised mixed sole-plate.  

Marcelo (Real Madrid) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

Marcelo and Jese Rodrigeuz made sure Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't alone in wearing the new Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII football boots during Real Madrid's La Liga match with Real Sociedad. The full-back was spotted wearing the SG Pro-Plate Vapor 8 that also featured personalisation on the inside and outside of the boots, with the Brazilian national flag sitting above the newly introduced medial swoosh.
