adidas Predator LZ Football Boots - Dribble

adidas Predator LZ Football Boots - Dribble

All five Lethal Zones have now been revealed, and in the Premier League clash between City and United it will be the Predator lethal zone 'Dribble' on show, and highlighted on both Nani and Samir Nasri's footwear. Here's the lowdown on the final instalment of the new Predator tease campaign...

The imminent reveal of the adidas Predator LZ has sparked a wave of excitement as adidas continue to unveil the next generation Predator. One of the most revolutionary football boots of all time, no other boot range has undergone quite as dramatic a change in the past 18 years. As adidas continue to evolve and develop the Predator range, they are once again entering new territory with their concept of Lethal Zones.

Such is the significance and importance of the Lethal Zones and the performance benefits they bring, that adidas have chosen to periodically unveil the new Predator LZ football boots. Already we've seen 'First Touch', 'Drive', 'Sweet Spot' and 'Pass' zones unveiled, and now it's time to discover the last zone.

The design to enhance the 'Dribble' zone, has SL rubber to provide optimum grip on the ball for controlled dribbling. The ribs of the rubber positioned on the lateral side of the boot are designed to provide a small contact surface area with the ball and configured for a large number of quick ball contacts, spaced out to ensure optimum grip.

The three stripes have recruited some of their top athletes including Kaka, Robin Van Persie, Nani, Samir Nasri, Angel di Maria and Xavi who are all sporting the special edition white-out football boots, which just have the relevant Lethal Zones highlighted.

With the 'Dribble' zone revealed, let's remind ourselves of the first four zones so we can complete the picture of what to expect from the adidas Predator LZ.

'Pass' was the fourth Lethal Zone to be revealed, and is on the instep of the adidas Predator LZ football boots. As the memory foam on the medial side of the boot ensures consistency of passing, and a 3-D sticky print with large surface area increases ball contact time for more precise passing. 'First Touch' was the first zone to be revealed, with rubber zones on the forefoot area of the boot acting as a cushioning platform on the synthetic upper with the aim of giving immediate ball control.

'Drive' is the raised and thicker 3-D shape on the inside of the boot, which follows the natural shape of the instep to create a rebound effect for greater distance and power. Whilst 'Sweet Spot' is the smaller surface area on the medial side of the boot that generates greater spin and pace.

As one of the most iconic names in football, the Predator series has been at the forefront of Powerboot design for nearly two decades. Now we're on the verge of another milestone in the boots history which will see the adidas Predator LZ combine five Lethal Zones.
