adidas 'Copa Del Rey' Boots

adidas 'Copa Del Rey' Boots

The last show-piece of the domestic season, football fans have been looking forward to Barcelona facing Athletic Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey final for some time, and better still here's a sneak preview at some of the players footwear including Leo Messi's new adizeros...

It's a mouth-watering prospect, with two teams known for playing fluid attacking football and both with a point to prove after disappointing ends to their respective European campaigns. In the Copa Del Rey final, adidas will have some great players on show including Lionel Messi, Xavi, Fernando Llorente, Javi Martinez and Ander Herrera, so for the last big stage of the domestic season they've kitted their stars out with new footwear.

The stand-out football boots are Lionel Messi's White/Lime/Onix adizero miCoach football boots, which he will be exclusively debuting for the Copa Del Rey final. Perhaps adidas had intended them for a bigger stage, but no matter which game Messi was to debut the boots we suspect they would stir up the boots community. Adidas have also gone to the effort of personalising Leo's boots, not just with the Copa Del Rey and Argentina flag, but also Messi's name, number and new bespoke logo.

In personalised Copa Del Rey footwear, Messi will be joined on pitch by team-mate and lead Predator asset Xavi Hernandez. Whilst for Bilbao Fernando Llorente, Javi Martinez and Ander Herrera will hope to make every touch count and combine their Lethal Zones to deadly effect!

All of the boots have the addition of the Copa Del Rey trophy, along with the players bespoke personalisation. Making these boots not just one-off pairs, but we imagine collectors items depending on the result and who scores the winning goal, although we suspect in that scenario the players would keep the boots for their own collections.

It's not just the boots that have undergone the adidas star treatment, as the balls used for the final will be pers'd up with 'Copa Del Rey' and the club names. Clearly the adidas marketing department are stepping up a gear when it comes to taking ownership of a major game, so should be interesting to see what they've got planned for Euro 2012.

The Copa Del Rey final looks like being a great match, with some great footballers on show. Two similar styles of attacking football, SoccerBible will definitely be watching the game and also keeping an eye on the players footwear!
