Global Football Boots Spotting - 21/05/12

Global Football Boots Spotting - 21/05/12

European football saw its final conclusions in a weekend that Chelsea made Champions League history. As we look ahead to a summer of international football, we were given an early taste of some of the boots that will travel to Poland   Ukraine! Take a look at who stole the boot-spotting headlines this week.

Juan Mata (Chelsea) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

It's been a memorable debut season in English football for Juan Mata. The Spaniard has landed both the FA Cup and Champions League in his first double-winning season at Chelsea. As he looks ahead to what could be trophy no.3 this year, Mata gave us a look at the Nike Vapor VIII football boots he'll be wearing in Poland/Ukraine this summer.

Frank Lampard (Chelsea) adidas adiPure 11Pro

Frank Lampard flew the adidas flag at the Allianz Arena, wearing the Blue/White/InfraredadiPure 11Pro boots. The veteran midfielder put in a good shift before coolly slotting home from the penalty spot in Chelsea's epic Champions League triumph. Frank's boots were a great match for Chelsea's home strip and will be the boots the English midfielder packs in his bag for Euro 2012!

Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

Franck Ribery was Bayern Munich's headline Nike player in action during the Champions League final. The French winger stepped out onto his home turf at the Allianz Arena wearing the new Nike Mercurial Vapor VIIIClash football boots. With the disappointment of the Champions League now behind him, how will his new boots perform in international colours this summer?

Ezequiel Lavezzi (Napoli) adidas f50 adizero miCoach

Napoli's in demand striker Ezequiel Lavezzi has been one of the stand-out players in Serie A this summer. Once again, the Argentine was instrumental in Napoli's first major title triumph since the Diego Maradona era, as they beat Juventus 2-0 in the Italian Cup final. Lavezzi won his side a penalty wearing his new Red/White/Blueadizero miCoach football boots.

Christian Maggio (Napoli) Lotto Stadio Potenza

Italian and Napoli full-back Christian Maggio proudly represented the famous green, white and red of Italy in the Italian Cup final on Sunday, wearing the new Lotto Stadio Potenza football boots. The Potenza's will be given a full release in early July ahead of the European Championships where they're sure to get some game time in the Italian line-up!

Radamel Falcao (Atletico Madrid) Puma v1.11 Custom

Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao was one of Puma's biggest summer signings last year. Since then, the Columbian has been banging in the goals in La Liga wearing the Puma v1.11. Now with the launch of the Puma evoSPEED just around the corner it looks as if Falcao has been wear-testing some of the boots new features including the redesigned one-piece sole-plate as seen above.

Mario Gotze (Germany) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

Nike have a wealth of exciting young talent on their books - few more exciting than German whiz-kid Mario Gotze! So it's no surprise Nike are looking after him with their latest boots! The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has been training in the new Nike Mercurial Vapor VIIIClash football boots as he and his international team-mates made Euro 2012 preparations.

Ashley Cole (Chelsea) Nike Tiempo Legend IV

All four of Nike's new Clash Collection boots were on show in the Champions League final on Saturday. One player to take to the field wearing the Black/WhiteTiempo Legend IV football boots was Chelsea's Ashley Cole, who put in one of the performances of the night. We think Ashley might find room for these personalised Tiempos in his collection!

David Luiz (Chelsea) Nike CTR360 Maestri II

David Luiz began his career in English football wearing the Nike Tiempo Legend, but the wacky-haired Brazilian ended his first full season at Chelsea wearing the new Nike CTR360 Maestri IIClash football boots. It was his first competitive performance wearing the CTR and one he'll never forget as he helped guide Chelsea to Champions League glory, scoring his penalty in the shoot-out.

Gael Clichy (France) Umbro GT II Pro

French defender Gael Clichy was spotted training for France wearing a very English pair of football boots! The Manchester City full-back joined the Premier League at just 17 after signing for Arsenal, but he might be in line for some serious stick if he packs these boots for the European Championships. Either way, it's hard not to be a fan of the special edition Umbro GT II Pro!

Fernando Torres (Chelsea) Nike T90 Laser IV

It took the new Nike T90 Laser IVClash football boots to get Fernando Torres into a new pair of boots! The Spaniard notoriously only wears white boots, so Nike's recent catalogue of Laser IV colourways haven't really been up his street. The Spaniard's days of commanding a starting eleven spot might be numbered, but the Chelsea no.9 found his way onto the field in the Champions League final wearing Nike's Euro 2012 T90.

Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich) adidas f50 adizero miCoach

Arjen Robben put in his first performance wearing the new Red/White/Blue adidas f50 adizero miCoach football boots in the Champions League final. The former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger suffered heart-break as he witnessed his former club overcome the odds in Bayern's back-yard. We're sure those boots will have a lot more goals in them this summer!
