Global Football Boots Spotting - 13/08/12

Global Football Boots Spotting - 13/08/12

Mesut Ozil makes Nike return, Lille duo in surprise brand switch and Podolski bags debut brace wearing f50 adizero. All the latest boot headlines from the weekend's action! Check out our global selection of the best boots catching our eye in the latest edition of SoccerBible bootspotting.

Lukas Podolski (Arsenal) adidas f50 adizero miCoach

Lukas Podolski made an instant impact for Arsenal wearing his White/Lime/Onix f50 adizero miCoach football boots. The German intentional scored twice on his Arsenal debut, netting from the spot and in open play as Arsenal defeated Podolski's former side Cologne 4-0.

Gael Clichy (Manchester City) Umbro Stealth Pro

Gael Clichy's recent boot choices suggest that his Umbro contract may have expired. The Frenchman was spotted wearing the Puma evoSpeed earlier in pre-season, and for Manchester City's Community Shield match the former Arsenal defender stepped out wearing a blacked out pair of Stealth Pro football boots.

Sergio Busquets (Barcelona) Nike CTR360 Maestri III

Barcelona first team will be fielding both colourways of the Nike CTR360 Maestri III come the start of the season. Sergio Busquets and midfield partner Andres Iniesta will both wear the new CTR football boots, with Busquets opting for the lesser suited Black/White/Crimson colourway. Could they welcome a third CTR player to their midfield, with transfer rumours currently surrounding Arsenal's Alex Song?

Edgar Benitez (Deportivo Toulca) Pirma Football Boots

Pirma football boots rarely make it outside of Liga MX, but remain one of the best represented brands in the Mexican league. Toulca forward Edgar Benitez caught our eye wearing a pair of the brightly coloured Pirma boots as his side defeated Pumas 2-1 to maintain its winning start to Mexico's Apertura championship.

Mesut Ozil (Real Madrid) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

As expected, Mesut Ozil returned to his Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII football boots after his surprise performance wearing the adidas Predator LZ - most likely the result of misplaced boots. The German international was back sporting the Nike Clash Vapor colourway during Real Madrid's pre-season friendly against Celtic.

Mathieu Debuchy (Lille) Kipsta

Kipsta football boots. Heard of them? Neither had we until this morning! Lille full back Mathieu Debuchy surprised us all with his never before seen football boots during Lille's opening L1 match. For all of our knowledge, Kipsta certainly aren't a heavy weight brand in the boot world. How they've gotten a French international to wear them is a mystery to us!

Bruno Gianni (Lille) Kipsta

Kipsta have made a double swoop within the Lille side - don't ask us how! Belgian striker Gianni Bruno was recently spotted wearing the same boots as team-mate Mathieu Debuchy in training. Bruno, who's made just 10 senior appearances for Lille, was previously wearing the Nike Tiempo but looks to have been recruited for Kipsta's mini French revolution!

Okotou Ezeckiel (Benin) Nike iD Mercurial Vapor VIII

Okotou Ezeckiel may not be your household name, but he managed to catch our eye at the weekend with some good design skills. The youngster was spotted wearing a pair of Black/Orange Nike iD Mercurial Vapor VIII football boots during the African Cup of Nations Junior's match.

Aaron Hunt (Werder Bremen) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

Aaron Hunt has done a great job of blacking out his Nike Vapor VIII football boots! The Werder Bremen winger has been a long term wearer of the Mercurial line but has been sporting the all-black Vapor VIII boots throughout Bremen's pre-season fixtures.

Grzegorz Krychowiak (Reims) Pantofola d'Oro Lazzarini

Our latest Pantofola d'Oro spot comes courtesy of Polish footballer Grzegorz Krychowiak. Now back at French club Reims, the midfielder is wearing a pair of red Lazzarini football boots. Krychowiak likes to match his kit and boot colours, having worn a yellow pair of Lazzaini's during his loan spell at Nantes last season.

Richard Soumah (Brest) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

We might have to wait a couple more weeks before the Seaweed/Volt/Red Mercurial Vapor VIII football boots get more of a presence across Europe. It's been a slow uptake for Nike's latest Vapor VIII colourway, but Brest's midfielder Richard Soumah was spotted wearing the boots during his sides opening L1 game with Nancy.
