The Chance UK: Rio Ferdinand's Boot Camp

Before jetting off to Barcelona for The Chance Global Final, the UK finalists were giving a final test of their talents as part of Rio's Boot Camp. Jose Figura, Liam Baker and Ashleigh Artwell were taken on a three day Manchester United crash course to experience life as a professional footballer.

The finalists enjoyed three days of training and relaxation at Manchester United's training complex. Fitness and conditioning, yoga, first team advice from Chris Smalling and Rio Ferdinand. All the preparation that was needed to give them every edge for Barcelona.

The final training days were used to help tactically develop each player before the challenge of Barcelona. Manchester United first team coach Rene Muelensteen explained the importance for young players to develop these final qualities.

Its very important for any young player to understand a little more about what sort of qualities they need to develop. If you ask them, they all aspire to be like the big players out there but they're hardly ever told what exactly made them stand out from the rest.

The countdown to Barcelona is on. Stayed tuned for more from Rio's Boot Camp including an exclusive interview with Manchester United assistant manager Mike Phelan. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
