Next Generation Brazil Stars Open Nike Rio

Next Generation Brazil Stars Open Nike Rio

One's the son of Brazilian legend Bebeto, and the other you might have signed on FIFA 13! Brazilian youngsters Mattheus and Adryan, both club players for Flamengo, were at the grand opening of Nike's first brand experience store in Latin America.

The first store of its kind is located in the heart of Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro -- one of Brazil's most fashionable districts. The store officially opened to the public on October 12th, welcomed special guests Adryan and Mattheus to participate in the Players Lounge, for a chat with young football fans and aspiring young players dreaming of following the same path as the promising footballers.

It's seems that no sooner are we marvelling at the talents of the current crop of Brazilian stars; players like Neymar, Ganso, Lucas and Oscar, than the next generation are already being primed for stardom. Both Adryan and Mattheus are 18 years of age and members of the Brazilian youth set-up, opening the new Nike store in Rio de Janeiro is a taste of the attention the talented duo are likely to become accustomed to.

Mattheus is the son of World Cup winning forward Bebeto, scorer of 39 goals for the national side and famous for the baby-rocking goal celebration, which celebrated the birth of Mattheus during the 1994 World Cup. Adryan like Mattheus is an attacking midfielder, and if anyone has played FIFA 13 on career mode will know, he's quite a handy young player to pick up!

The Nike Store Ipanema, includes three levels and a brand space at the top of the building - a special venue reserved for exclusive events and launches. Furniture, design, materials and architecture recreate the atmosphere of an old gym, with sports as the centre of the dialogue with consumers.

As the sponsor of the SeleÇÃo Brasileira since 1996, the Nike Ipanema Store showcases a wide range of official and free time product, ranging from Nike sponsored global teams, to Brazilian National Team product, to those of local clubs, expressing Brazil's unique passion for futebol.

Brand Experience Stores offer far more than a wide range of product in each category; they offer differentiated services, presentation, product testing and various experiences to consumers, in spaces larger than 1.200m². The way product is displayed helps not only to tell the story of the product since its conception, but also it helps consumers search and find by themselves the best product to cater their needs.

The first such store in Latin America, there are only 15 similar spaces in the world, located in key cities in China, Japan, the United States, France, Spain and the United Kingdom. With World Cup 2014 on the horizon, we can expect to see a heavier Nike presence in Brazil and keep your eyes out for future stars Mattheus and Adryan.
