Sergio Agüero Takes On PUMA Race Off

We all known how footballers are a competitive bunch and Sergio Aguero is as competitive as they come. The Argentine was next in line to put his speed to the test in the PUMA Race Off challenge, driving a simulated Mercedes F1 car.

F1 driver Nico Rosberg had already set the pace, throwing down the gauntlet for the Manchester City striker. I like fast cars and everything related to fast cars. In reality I don't like to lose. So for that reason I am very competitive. I don't like to lose in anything, not even in a card game or this simulator. I have to win.

Challenged with driving the legendary Monza race track, all participating players were given a training session on a fully authentic Mercedes AMG Petronas simulator before being let loose on the circuit to record a time. Egos are hurt and pride is bashed as many of the players discover that driving a Formula One car is not as easy as it looks as they fight for pole position on the PUMA Race Off leader board.

After a day of animated tyre-burning, Aguero recorded a fastest lap time of 01:22:58s - just a second and half behind Nico Rosberg. As for Emmanuel Frimpong, the Arsenal man had difficulty getting into the car, let alone completing a lap in the right direction! Click here to see his lap.
