Champions League Boot Spotting: Mid-Week Update

Champions League Boot Spotting: Mid-Week Update

With new boots and colourways everywhere you look on-pitch around Europe, it was time for Boot Spotting to return from a brief absence due to popular demand. It's a weekly fix for SoccerBible fans, so rest assured the original home of boot spotting is here to stay!

Oscar (Chelsea) adidas Predator LZ

There aren't many more exciting young players wearing the three stripes than Chelsea midfielder Oscar. The young Brazilian was in Champions League action wearing the latest Predator LZ colourway in Turin as Chelsea slumped to a 3-0 defeat. At least the boots looked the part, combining well with Chelsea's home strip.

Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) adidas f50 adizero miCoach

Karim Benzema has quickly established himself as one of adidas' most important European players. Since opening his account wearing the new adizero against Athletic Bilbao, Madrid's no.9 looks full of confidence. He opened the scoring once again as Madrid took on Manchester City, taking his goal tally in his new boots to three in two games.

Lukas Podolski (Arsenal) adidas f50 adizero miCoach

Lukas Podolski knows all about the f50 range. He soon marked his debut performance in the boots with a spectacular goal. Podolski fired home Arsenal's second goal in their 2-0 home win against Montpellier. Adidas have divided their player support across each of the two adizero colourways. As expected, Podolski will wear the bright yellow editions.

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) Puma evoSPEED 1

Of all the recent releases, PUMA have landed one of our favourite boots of the year! The latest paint job to hit the evoSPEED line looked stunning on pitch, as demonstrated by Sergio Aguero who scored from the penalty spot in City's 1-1 draw with Real Madrid. Simply unmissable on pitch, we're looking forward to seeing more of these in action across Europe.

Jefferson Farfan (Schalke) adidas f50 adizero miCoach

Schalke 04 booked their spot in the Champions League knock-out stage with a 1-0 victory over Olympiakos. Striker and long term adizero man Jefferson Farfan wasted no time in putting his new adizero's into action, stepping out wearing the noticeably popular Black/White/Green colourway.

Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich) adidas adiPURE 11Pro

Manuel Neuer updated his adidas footwear for Bayern Munich's Champions League tie with Valencia. The German goalkeeper stepped out wearing the suitably coloured White/Red/Black adiPure 11Pro colourway as Bayern Munich secured their place in the knock-out phases of the Champions League after a 1-1 against their Spanish opposition.

Holger Badstuber (Bayern Munich) adidas Predator LZ

You would expect the players of an adidas team based in Germany to be kitted out with the latest gear, and this was indeed the case as Holger Badstuber debuted the Black/Pop/White Predator LZ's. A classic and traditional looking Pred, but with 21st century design and innovation, the new Preds are a great blend of new and old, plus they happened to look great with the Bayern kit.

Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace) Nike CR Mercurial Vapor VIII

Zaha is a player we expect to hear a lot more of in coming years, after a string of impressive performances and an international call-up, Zaha is currently being tracked by Europe's top clubs. Pictured here wearing Cristiano Ronaldo's special edition Vapor, Zaha will be hoping one day it's his name/logo on the heel of the boot!

Bosko Jankovic (Genoa) adidas f50 adizero miCoach

Whilst players around the globe were unboxing either the new Yellow or Black/Green adidas f50 boots, Genoa's Bosko Jankovic was debuting a completely bespoke boot. Jankovic's synthetic Green f50 adizero boots could potentially be a future release, and are very reminiscent of the Green f50i.

Adam Clayton (Huddersfield Town) miadidas Predator LZ

The option of custom designing your own footwear is one that Adam Clayton has taken full advantage of, and the result is a very good looking and colour-coordinated adidas Predator. A simple Blue/White scheme is a great compliment to the Huddersfield kit, and we'd like to think he has an alternative pair for the away strip.

Mladen Petric (Fulham) miadidas Predator LZ

Another player who fancies himself as a boot designer is Fulham's Petric, who has come up with these very clean and classy White/Black Predator LZ football boots. Quite a contrast to the majority of Predator LZ's currently available on the market, so it seems Petric has taken matters into his own hands and designed a look he is comfortable with.
