Arteta PUMA King Shoot - Behind the scenes

Arteta PUMA King Shoot - Behind the scenes

We joined PUMA on the set for their latest photo-shoot, as midfield playmaker Mikel Arteta was captured in the latest King football boots and gear. For PUMA this launch is an important one in changing the cultural shift of the King to more of a 'control' boot, and the stills captured help to tell the story...

In a hired photography studio in London, a venue known for such iconic clients as David Beckham, George Best, Tiger Woods and Andre Agassi, SoccerBible joined Mikel Arteta and the PUMA crew. Kitted out from head-to-toe in PUMA's latest King range, for Mikel Arteta modelling in front of a camera has become the norm since joining PUMA in 2010.

A day in the photography studio is all part of the job for football's high-profile names. Once the morning training session has finished it's not a case of heading home, for many footballers it's more work for promotion, marketing and interviews. And of course, in all of these arenas you'll find a SoccerBible journalist or photographer, wielding a microphone or lens to report the most comprehensive behind-the-scenes insight into the football industry.

In recent years, one brand to have stepped up their activity both on and off the field is PUMA. Their impressive list of acquired star names is testament, with Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure, Cesc Fabregas, Radamel Falcao and of course Mikel Arteta signing for the brand.

PUMA's latest artwork and promotional material centres around unifying their star players and boot fans by 'The Nature of Performance'. Distinguishing players by boot category, the nature of Mikel Arteta and the new PUMA King is 'control'. PUMA rarely disappoint when it comes to eye-catching colours, and as you see the yellow is a strong launch colourway for the campaign and the new King - and you can check out our full boot review here.

We wanted to give you a glimpse into the inner workings of the football industry, and with PUMA doing some great work it's great to share some of their output. We also chatted exclusively to Mikel on the day, so stay tuned to hear his thoughts on the new PUMA King, Arsenal, Spain and England.
