Which Players 'Sell' Boots? Your Top 10.

When it comes to football boots, the players that wear them have become as important as the boots themselves! Signing the world's best players has become a huge priority for the top brands. It's no secret - top players sell boots.

A players association with the boots they wear has never been greater. But which players have the most influence over the boots that sell? We recently put that question to our Facebook community - check out the top 10 players.

GARETH BALE - Gareth Bale has quickly risen from a small-time adidas extra to one of their most important players. The Tottenham winger is now one of the main faces of the f50 range and widely recognised as an adidas man. Bale played a big part in the launch of the first-gen adizero miCoach, but hasn't featured as heavily as other f50 players in recent adidas promotion. His profile will continue to grow as will his influence, especially if he's captured by one of Europe's super clubs.

SERGIO AGUERO - Of all the strikers PUMA have on their books, none are more important than Sergio Aguero. The Manchester City striker, signed by the PUMA from Nike in 2011 has helped to re-ignite the brands speed line. A strong personality on and off the pitch, the Argentine's goal record has put PUMA in the Premier League spotlight. They've worked heavily with Aguero in their promotion of the evoSPEED, most notably with the 'Razzle-Dazzle' camo test boot. When you have one of the world's top strikers wearing your boots, it's always going to help!

CESC FABREGAS - Cesc Fabregas was a huge capture for PUMA when they lured him from Nike in 2011. Fabregas was one of Nike's most recognised faces before joining the German brand. With one of the world's finest creative midfielders on their books, Fabregas ensures that PUMA have a continuous presence in the heart of the football's most celebrated and watched team - not to mention his participation in the national team! The PowerCat has received a huge boost on the back of Fabregas' wearing the boot. He now with his own signature boot and his influence will continue to grow.

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC - He's one of the associated players with the Nike Mercurial line. Whether you like him or not, Zlatan and Nike have gone hand-in-hand for many years now. During his spell at Barcelona, he became Nike's first player to feature in a promotional campaign for the Superfly II wearing the famous Barcelona home kit. His influence was greater during his Milan and Barca days, but when it comes to Ibrahimovic, all football fans knows what he wears on his feet! Most importantly, he's still making headlines and putting his Nike Vapor boots in the spotlight.

WAYNE ROONEY - When he's scoring goals, Wayne Rooney is Nike's most important player for the T90. However he is one of the few high profile players to represent the silo. For so long Rooney has been associated with T90. Nike have been quiet on the T90-front for a while now, with rumours of a serous shake-up planned for 2013. It will be interesting to see how Nike utilise one of the most promoted players going forward. In England, his profile is arguable the highest in the league. Across Europe though, he's not quite the Rooney of old, but remains one of the most recognised faces of Nike Football.

ANDRES INIESTA - The success of the Nike CTR has been down to the players that wear it as much as the boot itself. Nike built the CTR concept around Iniesta and he has helped make the boot one of the most successful in the game. The Barca midfielder is regarded as one of the finest players in world football. Few other players better represent the boots they wear than Iniesta. The Spanish international has helped lead his county to a World Cup and European Championship. Barca fan or not, it's impossible to not like this guy! The CTR wouldn't be the success it is without him.

DAVID BECKHAM - Even at this stage in his career, brand-Beckham is still a strong force! Mr. Predator himself is still one of adidas' most important players when it comes to selling boots. Release a Beckham exclusive Predator and it's a guaranteed sell-out. His world-wide profile is as big as they come. Ask anyone football fan what boots Beckham wears and you'll get the same answer! He's been hugely important in keeping the Predator relevant. There's still the feeling that if you really want to bend it like Beckham, then you need a pair of Predators on your feet! Whether he's playing on one side of the world or the other, Beckham's influence has never wavered.

NEYMAR - Neymar is the leading face of Nike's new generation of stars. For a player that's yet to hit Europe, his profile is huge. Even more exciting, the potential is even greater! Nike know all too well about how to make a big name bigger. Neymar has the style and on-pitch persona to mix it with the best. You only have to look at the reaction to the Nike GS to see the influence he's having in the boot world. When it comes to the superstars of Nike Football from Ronaldo to CR7, Neymar looks like the next name in line. Put him in a Barcelona shirt and watch his profile sky-rocket!

LIONEL MESSI - Whether you're buying a pair of football boots for the first or hundredth time, it's always good to know what the best player in the world is wearing! In some other universe, Lionel Messi is still wearing Nike football boots. But thankfully for adidas, the boy they helped persuade switch allegiances turned into one of the greatest players in history. The adidas f50 adizero might not have enjoyed half of the success it has without Messi. Worshiped across the world for his sublime skill, it's no surprise to learn that Messi is one of the most influential players when it comes to selling boots! Even so, adidas and Messi have a relatively quiet relationship. This could all change in 2013!

CRISTIANO RONALDO - When it comes down to it, no player commands the same levels of attention and influence as Cristiano Ronaldo. Nike have shown that you can put Ronaldo in just about anything and it will sell! Since making himself a superstar at Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo has been Nike's single most important player and has helped make the Mercurial Vapor one of the most exciting boots in the game. From the way he kicks a ball to the boots he wears, Ronaldo is a trend-setter and is showing no signs of slowing down!
