Bayern Munich's Xherdan Shaqiri & Luiz Gustavo Train In Vapor IX

Bayern Munich have chased the sun all the way to Qatar where they are currently holding their winter training camp. We cast an eye over their training session, hoping to see the new Nike Mercurial Vapor IX on show. We weren't dissapointed! Both Xherdan Shaqiri and Luiz Gustavo have been trialling their flash new footwear and we've got the photos to show you!

The Bayern Munich duo were spotted wearing two variations of the Mercurial Vapor IX that Nike plan to release later this month. Nike will roll out both colourways to their Mercurial roster, with higher profile names including Xherdan Shaqiri, Eden Hazard, Theo Walcott and Mario Gotze all expected to wear the bright orange design.

The Mercurials reputation dictates eye-popping launch colourways. It's become common for practice for brands to release two alternate colourways at launch. For the Vapor IX, it's another assault on the senses with two mega-bright designs. Nike are going all out for on-pitch presence, with a metallic upper that really grabs your attention.

Visually the Mercurial Vapor IX boots are a world apart from the previous Vapor VIII. Although the colourways aren't too dissimilar from previous designs used across the Mercurial line - most noticeably the launch colour of the Superfly III - the new upper material ensures a bright finish compared to the suede like material we became used to on the Vapor VIII.

Bayern Munich will play Bundesliga rivals Schalke and Qatari league champions Lekhwiya before returning to Germany. It will be interesting to see if either player gives their new boots a taste of competitive action before their official on-pitch reveal later this month.

Anticipation is building as we get closer to the official launch of the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX. Let us know what you think of the two launch colourways. Join in the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook
