Nike Athletes Join #BeMercurial Speed Event In Munich
Across Europe Nike are running a series of #BEMERCURIAL speed competitions, testing young footballers speed wearing the Nike Mercurial V9. The Munich trials kicked things off yesterday, with star Nike athletes Franck RibÉry, Mario Mandžukic, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Luiz Gustavo all in attendance.
Equipped with the Mercurial V9, the 26 young footballers tested their pace on the speed circuit, battling it out to prove how fast they were around the track. The four fastest players from the Munich event will head to Paris at the end of the month and go head to head with #BEMERCURIAL finalists from across Europe.
Off the pitch, the players then joined the Nike athletes at sports store Sport MÜnzinger, and were given the low-down on the Mercurial V9 s innovation and design.
Franck RibÉry said It was an exciting day and the guys were fast. Explosive speed is a key skill to being the best on the pitch and I wish the four finalists good luck in Paris. 
The #BEMERCURIAL London event will be held this Thursday, with two SoccerBible fans being selected to participate. Following the speed event, the UK players will visit NikeTown London for a Player's Lounge event with two Premier League Nike athletes.
