Step Aside Iniesta - New CTR Hero In Town As Owen Confirms Nike Switch
Michael Owen has finally called time on his career-spanning relationship with Umbro, announcing the heartbreaking news on his Twitter page. As Umbro continue to sink further into the abyss of football history, the former Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United andcurrent (it should be stressed) Stoke City striker has jumped aboard the Nike ship.
Owen, who became an iconic figure for the Umbro Speciali range, confirmed the switch by posting a picture of his new Nike CTR360 football boots. Following his long relationship with the Speciali, we assumed he would be more suited to the Nike Tiempo. But it looks like the former England international will see out his playing days wearing the CTR360. Although we'd love to see him take the Vapor IX for a spin!
