100 Not Out: Ashley Cole Presented With Commemorative Nike Tiempo Boots

Ashley Cole will become an England centurion tonight when the Three Lions face Brazil in an international friendly at Wembley Stadium. From his internationl debut against Albania in 2001, each cap Cole has picked up along the way has been from a starting XI position...now that's impressive!

To mark the occasion Cole will be wearing a pair of personalised Nike Tiempo Legend IV boots which have been embroidered with St George s cross, AC 3, England vs Brazil and 100th Cap ; all messages designed to celebrate his achievement. They were presented to him yesterday at St George s Park in a specially designed presentation box.

After 12 years of pulling on the England shirt, the 32-year-old will become only the seventh player to join the illustrious 100 club, currently occupied by Peter Shilton, David Beckham, Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, Billy Wright and England captain Steven Gerrard. A remarkable achievement that no other England full back has matched.

While most of Cole's earlier England caps were won as an adidas player wearing some of the earliest f50 generations, Nike have joined the celebrations by presenting the Chelsea left-back with a special pair of Tiempo boots that will certainly find their way into his collection! Cole began wearing Nike boots in 2010, following periods in adidas and PUMA.

100 not out: Ashley Cole will win his 100th international cap when England face Brazil at Wembley.

Ahead of the game, Cole has been speaking to The FA about reaching the milestone. It s been a long time coming, 12 years of playing for England, so on Wednesday, if I play, it will be a proud moment for me and my family, he said. I don t what to say that it s just another game for me. It is good that it s 100 caps, but I want to win the game as well.
