SoccerBible Meets Demba Ba: Boot Talk

Demba Ba has shown tenacity, determination and clinical finishing in forcing his way to the top of English football. The Senegal striker has established a reputation to be reckoned with, making a name for himself at West Ham United and Newcastle United before sealing a January transfer to Chelsea.

On shoot with our pals at adidas, we recently visited Chelsea's Cobham Training Centre to sit down with the Blues new boy. Demba Ba is currently one of the Premier League's top goal scorers wearing the adidas f50, forming part of adidas' lethal line-up of strikers alongside the likes of Luis Suarez, Robin Van Persie and Michu.

Demba Ba: The striker has made a strong start to his Chelsea career. Albeit in his old f50 boots...

Ba has proved himself to be one of the most lethal strikers in the Premier League. He also knows what he likes when it comes to his football boots - just don't try to get him out of his Silver/Infrared f50's. Ba's time in the adizero stretches back to 2010 when he was at German club Hoffenheim. As a leather enthusiast, it's all about the boots touch.

"I think when you have light boots with a good leather and they are very comfortable, it can make it easier when you play and when you touch the ball. The feeling you want to have when you touch the ball is very important and the lighter the boot is, the better it is."

Back in town: Ba insists Yohan Cabaye is the best player he's played with.

On pitch, Demba Ba insists his close friend and ex Newcastle team-mate Yohan Cabaye is the best player he has played with. The striker formed an effective partnership with the French midfielder during his year and a half on Tyneside, where he scored a total of 29 goals in 59 games.
