Global Football Boots Spotting - 25/03/13

The rather unwelcome international break might have disrupted our usual routine of weekend football, but we can still bring you a sweet selection of the best football boots tearing up pitches from across the world. Get your week started right here with the latest fix of SoccerBible boot-spotting.

Wayne Rooney (England) Nike T90 Laser IV

With England taking on European minnows San Marino, Wayne Rooney would have expected to fill his new boots in Serravalle on Friday night, but the Manchester United striker had to settle for a single goal, albeit a sweet free kick, as he wore the new Mango T90 Laser IV colourway for the first time.

Simone Zaza (Ascoli) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

Ascoli Italy U21 striker Simone Zaza gave us one of the spots of the weekend, wearing a custom pair of Nike Vapor VIII football boots. The on loan Sampdoria striker has been wearing the all-white boots for the last two weeks, after a brief stint in the Mercurial V9. However he's done it, Zaza has achieved a great white-out look and obviously favours the boots over his Vapor IX.

Neymar (Brazil) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX

Now firmly established as one of Nike's leading assets, it was no surprise to see Neymar laced up in the new Mercurial colourway as Brazil and Italy went head to head in Geneva. The Neptune Blue/Volt/Blue colour update has been released to see out the rest of this season and with Barcelona making no secret of their admiration for Neymar, could this be his last Mercurial colourway for Santos?

              Craig Bellamy (Wales) Warrior Skreamer

After sporting a signature Welsh edition of the Warrior Skreamer, Cardiff City striker Craig Bellamy has moved into the latest Spicy Orange/Blue colourway of Warrior's headline boot model. The punchy design packs in a real abundancebof colour. Luckily flash footwear is something the much-travelled veteran has never been afraid of. Bellalmy could be bringing his Warrior boots to the Premier League next season, with Cardiff favourites for promotion.

Amine Linganzi (Accrington Stanley) adidas f50 adizero Messi

We're gradually seeing more and more professional players sporting the signature Leo Messi f50 adizero, especially with non contracted players in the lower leagues. Way down in the Football League Two, Accrington Stanley - "who are they?!" - striker Amine Linganzi was spotted putting his new boots into action as his side travelled to Gillingham.

Mario Balotelli (Italy) Nike CTR360 Maestri III

Italy and Brazil gave us the first on-pitch look at Nike's Spring colour updates on Thursday night. It was that man Mario Balotelli who scored the goal of the game curling in a stunning strike wearing the new Mint CTR as Italy came from behind to draw 2-2 in an entertaining friendly.

Wilfred Zaha (England) Nike GS II

The new Mercurial IX colourway hasn't tempted Wilfried Zaha to trade in his Nike GS2's. Man United's youngster put in a man of the match performance in his limited edition boots, scoring the opening goal in England U21's 3-0 win over Romania, his first goal for the Three Lions.

Leandro Climacci Pinto (Olympiacos) adidas f50 adizero

Black-out boots gone wrong. It's quite a common theme in our bootspotting. The latest culprit is Olympiacos U19 player Leandro Climacci Pinto who tried to disguise his Energy/White/Electricity f50 adizero miCoach boots during the NextGen Series match-up between Olympiacos and Aston Villa. The black marker didn't hold up too well, and you could clearly see the red upper and yellow sprint web across the boot!

              Kengo Nakamura (Japan) Mizuno Morellia

Japan recorded a 2-1 win over Canada in an international friendly on Friday. One thing you know you're going to get whenver you watch a Japanese side is an abundance of Mizuno boots. Midfielder Kengo Nakamura gave us a good look at his mixed-plate editions of the classic black/white Mizuno Morelia - a staple of any Japanese players boot locker.
