Ryan Babel Pimps Up His Nike Mercurial Boots

Ryan Babel likes to let people know what's going on in his life - he's racked up over one million Twitter followers doing just that. Well this week we found out he's been having some fun with Dutch artist Boxie, who was given license to pimp up the Ajax midfielder's match worn CR Mercurial boots.

The boots will be auctioned, with all money going to the Cruyff Foundation - a charity that supports sport projects for young children with disabilities in Holland. Luckily, the final design looked cool! Although Ryan's art skills are slightly questionable.

When it comes to football boots, Ryan Babel is always a player to keep an eye on. The former Liverpool man obviously has good conncetions at Nike and is usually one of the first players to land new releases. He's a dedicated boot fan, wearing everything from the Nike GS to Cristiano Ronaldo's signature designs.

Boot art isn't common across Europe. Our man Daren Dunn has ignited quite a trend for it down in Australia. From the sounds of Babel's website there's a video on the way as well to give us more of an insight into Ryan's lesson in boot graffiti! Let us know what you think of the final design. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
