Aaron Lennon Delivers Custom Built Nike Mercurial Vapor IXs
Tottenham Hotspur superstar Aaron Lennon recently surprised lower league side Barnet FC with a special delivery for youth player Elie Henry. Lennon arrived at The Hive London - home to Barnet Football club - in style to deliver Henry's custom-built Mercurial Vapor IX football boots.
Lennon pulled up in Nike's Mercurial-wrapped Lamborghini Gallardo, coloured to match the same design as Henry's winning Vapor IX boots. The £150,000 Lamborghini Gallardo is no stranger to vehicle wraps. Following the release of the Mercurial Vapor IX, Nike dressed the stunning supercar in both launch colourways of the boots.
After submitting his design online, Elie Henry was invited to NikeTown London to custom build his own Mercurial Vapor IXs. His made to order boots were designed with a metallic blue white upper, complimented with a mint green swoosh. To the surprise of Henry and his team-mates, the custom-built Mercurial Vapor IXs were delivered by one of the fastest players in the Premier League.
Nike's iD service allows you to custom-build your Nike Mercurial Vapor IX football boots, giving you the ability to customise the traction, material, cushioning and personalisation. Most impressively, the service allows you to make your boots glow. A new feature gives you the option to make the Swoosh, laces and Nike logo glow in the dark when exposed to ultraviolet light.
We obviously have some SoccerBible fans inside Barnet FCs ranks - @cjper tweeted us some pictures of his day, giving us a good look at the Mercurial Vapor IX boots and inside the Lamborghini. After delivering the custom boots, it was back to work for both Mercurial athletes as we approach the final run-in of the season!
