Global Football Boots Spotting - 08/04/13

Global Football Boots Spotting - 08/04/13

League football returned to cap off another exciting weekend of European action. Bringing you the best boot-spots from around the globe, check out this weeks SoccerBible edition featuring an exciting range of new, old and custom boots from the Premier League to the A-League. Get your week started right here.

Emmanuel Adebayor (Tottenham) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX

When Adebayor first arrived on the Premier League scene back in 2006, he played his earliest games as an Arsenal man wearing the Nike Mercurial Vapor III before switching to the f50 silo. After so long wearing the adidas speed boot, the Spurs striker suprised us all this past weekend after wearing the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX for Tottenham's fixture against Everton.

Greg Halford (Nottingham Forest) miadidas f50 adizero

Nottingham Forest defender Greg Halford has tried his hand at some boot designing, stepping inside the miadidas studio to create these great looking adizero boots. Perfectly matching to his sides home colours, we've got to give these the thumbs up - even though green wouldn't have been our choice! Halford was putting the boots into action during his sides match against Blackpool.

Eric Abidal (Barcelona) adidas f50 adizero

Eric Abidal made his emotional return to first team football this past weekend after undergoing a liver transplant. Abidal returned with a new pair of boots - ditching his former Nike Tiempo boots in favour of the adidas f50 adizero. Quite a suprise and not the typical boot choice for a centre half.

Jeronimo Neumann (Adelaide United) Pele Sports Trinity 3E

All white boots always catch our eyes, but in this case with Adelaide United winger Jeronimo Neumann, there's been no custom treatment involved. The Argentinian - who's know for wearing the Pele Trinity SheOne - was spotted in the White/Red Pele Sports Trinity 3E as his side took on Brisbane Roar in the A-League Elimination Final.

Henri Lansbury (Nottingham Forest) miadidas Predator LZ

Henri Lansbury is always on our radar when it comes to football boots. This past weekend, the former Arsenal midfielder was spotted wearing his own Predator LZ design. For his sides Championship clash with rivals Blackpool, the Nottingham Forest midfielder stepped out wearing a stunning pair of Red/White miadidas Predator LZ football boots that would be a real hit if released by adidas!

Jacob Burns (Perth Glory) Nike CTR360 Maestri III

The overwhelming uptake of the Mint/Black/Lime Nike CTR360 Maestri III has left the White/Crimson/Black design a little in the shadows. There are a few professionals out there who have landed a pair, most notably down in Australia! Perth Glory midfielder Jacob Burns - who flirts between the Tiempo and CTR360 - is one player who gave the boots a run-out at the weekend during his sides A-League Elimination final match against Melbourne Victory.

Criag Bellamy (Cardiff City) adidas f50 adizero

So after a little digging, we've discovered that Criag Bellamy was actually wearing a blacked-out edition of the adidas f50 adizero. The picture displays the same boot profile and heel counter as the f50. As for the adizero model, we think it's the previous generation worn by Bellamy during the Olympic Games. After wearing the latest edition of the Warrior Skreamer last week, it's an interesting switch and one we'll keep our eyes on.

Nabil El Zhar (Levante) Nike GS II

Levante winger Nabil El Zhar gave us a look at his customised Nike GS II football boots during his sides La Liga match against Real Madrid. The Moroccan international has either blacked-out the ACC print usually found on the outside of the boot, or found a way to remove it. Either way the boots look better for it, giving them the same look as the original Nike GS.

Roberto Soriano (Sampdoria) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX

The launch of the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX has given us more attempted black-outs than ever before! Another player guilty of trying to disguise his Sunset/Volt/Crimson/Black Vapor IX boots is Sampdoria midfielder Roberto Soriano. A few strong challenges and it's not long before the disguise soon wears off. This was the case with Soriano's boots - the instep of his right boot gave us a good look at colourway he's trying to hide!
