KICK DRAW x SoccerBible: CR Signature Boot Illustrations
Australian designer Rhyen Ellis has created a name for himself in the digital realm of sneaker design, showing that there's more than one way to draw a shoe. Here at SoccerBible, we're always looking for new ways to tell the story of modern football boots. So we thought we'd challenge Ellis. How would his style translate to football boots, more specifically Cristiano Ronaldo's football boots?
When we spotted Rhyen's unique style of art we were intrigued to see what he could with football boots and what better collection to use than Cristiano's signature Nike range. Rhyen's quirky style and Ronaldo's eccentric collection go hand in hand and the results are top class!
The stylish simplicity of the art is what makes it so cool for us, we've all seen these boots hundreds of times so it's refreshing to see them with a completely new twist. We've got a lot of love for the attention to detail on the Safari's but it's the cleaner more simplistic boots such as the pinstripe Superfly and the Vapor VIII which really optimise the cool factor.
Nike and Cristiano have produced some of the most experimental and outrageous designs to ever hit a football boot, creating a range that reflects CR's personality and this is what makes them special. Granted, not everyone will be a fan of the colourways but every CR7 release always turns heads and send shock-waves through the boot community.
Graphic designer Rhyen has earned plaudits online and he's built a large following by putting his awesome skills to the test to capture his love of sneakers. He's transformed old school basketball classics such as Nike Air Jordan's and Nike Dunks but now he can add football boots to his impressive portfolio.
Rhyen's cartoony approach on Cristiano Ronaldo's boot collection gives his artwork a real sense of individuality and we reckon they wouldn't look out of place in the main man's Madrid penthouse! Top work from Rhyen and we'll be on the lookout for his future Kick Draw projects.
