Raised On Concrete: The Boateng Brothers In Berlin

This week Nike jetted us out to Berlin, Germany to be part of quite a unique event titled #myground which celebrated the roots of Kevin-Prince, JÉrÔme George Boateng. Football stars Kevin-Prince JÉrÔme met with their older brother George at the concrete court where the brothers fell in love with the game.

The court, located by the Panke river in Berlin was where they would play night and day as kids. The Panke had a strong influence on us as brothers - small-sided football made us better football players, but also brought us together as brothers. It s very cool to feel the atmosphere here again and pass it on, said Kevin-Prince.

Hundred of fans surrounded the court as young footballers from across Europe joined the three brothers on court. After a quick Q A where Kevin-Prince Boateng recalled playing against grown men when he was just 12 years old, the three brothers enjoyed a kick-about wearing Nike's latest collection of fc247 gear including the Lunar Gato II and Elastico Finale II.

There was a real buzz around Wedding, Berlin, which is one of the poorest districts of the city. Posters of the brothers decorated the city streets, indicating that Nike and the Boateng's were in town. A media space was set up on the other side of the Panke river, showcasing each of the brothers lives. Stay tuned for more inside access from there!

We spoke exclusively to Kevin-Prince Boateng about his youth and life as a Nike superstar. More updates on that coming soon! Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
