SB Meets Dani Alves - adidas Nitrocharge
The launch of the Nitrocharge 1.0 has challenged adidas with mustering a new squad of players, players who will wear the boot on the grandest stages. On set for the adidas Nitrocharge commercial in Barcelona' s Estadi Olimpic, we caught up the three players selected to headline the Nitrocharge roster.
Dani Alves has enjoyed in his own words, a "curious" relationship with adidas - maybe because he's returned to the brand where it all began for him. Barca's buccaneering right-back is considered one of the best in the world, which explains adidas' decision to give him a spot in their Nitrocharge commercial. Not least for his unquestionable persona.
Alves knows how to work a camera. His eccentric personality means he is a directors dream. Much like his on-field playing style, Alves is unpredictably brilliant. After a series of sequences that included crash mats and screaming down the throat of a camera, Alves sat down to have a chat with us about life on team adidas and his new Nitrocharge boots.
It's not long before you realise Alves's philosophy of football is quite different. Describing the "sensational" adidas Nitrocharge as "a boot that goes to the limit of the competition" and "a boot that identifies a lot with my style of play and personality", it's clear that he's already a big fan.
Adidas have already made big strides in 2013 as they gear towards next years World Cup in Alves's home country. "They are always trying to be better, always evolving and always improving so that their athletes like the product and it's to their taste. That's what I like most about the brand. Without doubt it's the best time to be with the brand."
Alves's distinctive fashion sense off-field is well known, so when it comes to football boots it's a case of the brighter, the better. "I like strong colours, colours that stand out so you can be noticed on pitch. When you wear boots that are brightly coloured, it keeps you vivid and alive in the game."
