Video: Talking PUMA evoSPEED 1.2 With Pascal Van Essen

The man behind the new PUMA evoSPEED 1.2 Pascal Van Essen sits down with us to discuss the brands stylish new speed boots. Unveiled for the first time this week in a slick Black/Yellow/Blue colour-combo, the new evoSPEED 1.2 football boots take inspiration from the airflow lines found on race cars.

Instead of going for the shock factor by launching a boot in bright orange or yellow, PUMA have expertly combined a traditional look with a few modern twists. "At a time when colours are getting more crazy, we felt it was quite revolutionary to just do a black shoe."

Talking more about the new look of the evoSPEED 1.2, Pascal explained; "Compared to the first evoSPEED, we moved to a new form stripe again, but also on the medial side we've used our new word-mark to highlight the shoe and to get great visibility on pitch."

As for the tech aspects, the evoSPEED 1.2 is made with a softer, lighter than ever microfiber upper for enhanced touch and feel. "One of the biggest improvements we've made from a technical aspect is that we've used a different synthetic. It's very thin and shapes to the foot, but the touch of it is better."
