So Spain aren't invincible after all? On the last weekend before the July pre-season work starts Brazil hammered the European and World Champions to lift the Confederations Cup in their own backyard. We've plucked out the best of the boot spots from the past week including the headline makers footwear and a couple of rare and custom jobs...

Lionel Messi (Messi and Friends) adidas f50 adizero Messi

Leo Messi gave a first run out to his latest signature f50 colourway at the weekend. Messi is lined up to kick off the new season in his new unique design but gave his boots an early debut for his own Messi and friends XI against a Rest of the World side in Colombia. The Messi and friends team have 3 more charity matches, one in Peru and two in America.

 

Yuki Ogimi (Japan) adidas Predator LZ Custom

Japan s Yuki Ogimi has designed a custom pair of adidas Predator LZ s to match her national team kit. The shades of blue merge to create a quality looking boot unique to the player. Ogimi was in action against England in a 1-1 draw at Burton Albion s Pirelli Stadium.

 

Julio Cesar (Brazil) Nike CTR360 Maestri III

Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar was wearing a custom blacked out boot for QPR in the Premier League last season but during the Confederations Cup has made a dramatic switch to the new vibrant CTR colourway. Cesar won the Golden Glove award at the tournament after being voted as the best goalkeeper but his club future is still unresolved with Arsenal rumoured to be interested.

 

Neymar (Brazil) Nike HyperVenom

Player of the tournament Neymar capped off a fine personal display by scoring a thunderous goal against Spain in the final. All the hype was built around Neymar going into the Confed Cup after completing his move to Barca and being launched as the face of the HyperVenom and the boy certainly delivered.

 

Rachel Yankey (England) Umbro Geometra 2

England may have switched over to Nike recently but winger Rachel Yankey is still hanging onto the patriotic Umbro brand. Umbro made some of the greatest England kits of all time before the switch to the swoosh earlier this year and Yankey was laced up in a pair of Geometra 2 boots as the lionesses took on Japan.

 

Nahomi Kawasumi (Japan) adidas Pathique X

Nahomi Kawasumi was wearing one a few unique boots on show in the England v Japan match this week, the midfielder was reppin a pair of adidas Pathique X boots. The silo is a Japanese specific boot that was only released in the Far East and very rarely makes an appearance on European shores. It s basically the Japanese version of the adiPure and is released in some pretty heavy colour combos.

 

Fred (Brazil) adidas f50 adizero

Fred was the hero for Brazil in the Confederations Cup Final as his brace saw his side hammer European and World champions Spain 3-0 at the Maracena. Fred was wearing the latest Infrared adidas f50 as he finished joint top scorer in the competition with 5 goals.

 

Shea Salinas (San Jose Earthquakes) adidas Nitrocharge 1.0

San Jose Earthquakes pulled off the result of the MLS weekend beating LA Galaxy 3-2 by scoring twice in injury time. One of those goals came from the feet of Shea Salinas who was wearing the new Black/Silver/Electricity adidas Nitrocharge boots.
