Global Football Boots Spotting - 24/06/13

We may be in the middle of June but there's still football going on around the globe and where there's football, there's football boots. From Brazil to China, we've scoured through the weeks action to bring you the best boot spots featuring a couple of surprise names, classic boots and custom jobs...

Heather O'Reilly (USA) adidas f50 adizero

This isn't the first time Heather O'Reilly has featured in boots spotting. The USWNT striker had recently been wearing a pair of black and orange f50s but she's now traded them in for a fresh white pair with subtle purple details, a top match for the USA home kit and another quality women's colourway which we wouldn't hesitate to wear.

David Silva (Spain) adidas Nitrocharge 1.0

Spain are into the Confederations Cup semi-final after topping their group by winning all 3 games. David Silva two of his side's ten goals against tiny Tahiti. Silva played the whole of last season wearing the f50 but has since switched to the Nitrocharge on it's release. The new adidas silo is continuing to grow on us and has a real distinctive look on pitch.

Christian Maggio (Italy) Lotto Solista

Last week Lotto releases the world's first reflective football boot - the Solista. Italy's Christian Maggio was one of the first players to give us a look at how the boots appear on pitch. For the sake of the reflective aspect we've featured two different photos. The zoomed out photo does (slightly) show the boots catching some light whereas the zoomed in photo shows how the boots normally look. The plain grey backdrop really throws the Lotto logo at you and we reckon they look pretty decent.

Ian Wright (Arsenal Legends) adidas Predator Mania

Ian Wright turned out for the Arsenal Legends at the weekend, and the good thing about old Wrighty is that he always keeps a spare ball up his shirt in case one goes out of play. The ex-England international was laced up in a pair of old school adidas Predator Manias, arguably the best Pred of all time. The elastic tongue, the classic colourway, the things we'd do to get a re-release of these.

Atsuto Uchida (Japan) adidas adipure 11Pro

Japanese defender Uchida has been in action at the Confederations Cup in Brazil wearing the latest adidas 11Pro colourway. The most recent release has gone down well with adiPure fans after a spat of more colourful releases and is being repped at the Confed Cup by Uchida and Spain's Cazorla amongst others.

Jonathan Tehau (Tahiti) Nike Tiempo Legend IV

Jonathan Tehau became a Tahitian legend last week by scoring the biggest goal in the nation's history. Tehau rose at the back post to score his side's only ever goal at a major tournament. Tahiti let in 24 goals in 3 games in Brazil, but who cares, they scored! Hopeless in possession, clueless players, awful up top, atrocious at the back, it was like being at Anfield on a Saturday afternoon. Tehau is a delivery driver by trade plays along side 2 of his brothers and his cousin for the national side. Hero.

David Beckham (Free Agent) adidas Predator LZ

Becks is already missing the game that he's resulted to taking on (and fouling, he's all over him) 8 year old Chinese kids to get his buzz. Beckham dusted off his special edition Preds to have a kick about at half time in a Chinese Super League game during his promotional tour of the country. We're not ready to say goodbye to him yet so he features in boots spotting one more time.

Mo Farah (Arsenal Legends) Nike Tiempo Mystic

Neither Gervinho, Chamakh or Pascal Cygan could make the Arsenal Legends game at the weekend so the Gunners had to rope in celebrity fan and double Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah. Judging by Mo's boots he hasn't played for a while, the Team GB hero swapped his track spikes for a pair of Nike Tiempo Legend II boots. In comparison to some of his ex-pro team mates Farah was the only player in red that was under 18 stone, although any sort of tackle or strong breeze looked like it could have snapped him in half.

If there are any players boots that you've spotted and think we should feature, mail us at:
