Global Football Boots Spotting - 08/07/13

Pre-season has finally begun and we're starting to get a picture of who will be wearing what next season. This week also saw new team mates Messi and Neymar go up against each other in the second of the "Messi Friends XI" vs matches in Peru. We've picked out the best from around the globe including some original CTR's and Steven Gerrard in bright boots!

Lionel Messi (Messi Friends XI) adidas f50 adizero Messi

Leo Messi gave his new signature f50 adizero colourway another run out this week. This time in an exhibition match pitching a "Messi Friends XI" against a "Rest of the World XI" in Lima, Peru on Tuesday. The match was the second in a series of four, with the last two being played in America.

Neymar (Rest of the World XI) Nike HyperVenom

Nike couldn't have asked for a better start to their HyperVenom campaign. The Confederations Cup threw up bags of TV time for the new Silo with Neymar living up to the hype and knocking in a goal in nearly every match. In the second of the "Messi Friends XI" exhibitions matches Neymar captained the "Rest of the World XI" and scored a 45 yard stunner.

Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) adidas Predator LZ

Steven Gerrard was spotted wearing the new adidas Predator LZ's at a Liverpool pre-season training session. The England midfielder usually shuns the bright colourways and only ever wears black boots. He's obviously had a change of heart though as they don't come too much louder than the Predator LZ's bright green launch colour.

Isco (Real Madrid) Nike HyperVenom

Isco was unveiled at Real Madrid this week wearing a pair of Nike HyperVenoms. The Spanish playmaker, who reportedly signed for £23m, used to wear Mercurials so it's a big decision from Nike to move him into the HyperVenom. In a team that most associate with adidas, it is important for Nike to have a strong presence at Real Madrid and Isco's signing will do a lot to soften the blow of losing Ozil to adidas.

Danny Hollands (Charlton Athletic) Nike CTR360 Maestri

Charlton Athletic midfielder Danny Hollands was weraing the original Nike CTR's on saturday during a pre-season friendly match between Welling and Charlton Athletic at Park View Road. The boots were first released four years ago and has seen various updates but Hollands stiil can't bare to part with his.

Simon Mensin (Livingston) Nike Premier

We weren't expecting to see the new Nike Premier's on the feet of many professionals but Simon Mensin of Scottish club Livingston is obviously a fan of the new heritage boot from Nike. The centre back was seen wearing a pair during a pre-season friendly between Livingston and Dinamo Bucharest.

Marcus Haber (Canada) Nike HyperVenom

Marcus Haber of Canada was wearing Nike HyperVenom's during the first round of the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup between Canada and Martinique. The HyperVenoms have been a big hit in the US since their launch at the end of May and USA's Clint Dempsey even took first honours in them back in early June with a goal against Germany.

Daniel Carvajal (Real Madrdi) Nike Tiempo Legend IV

Another sigining for Real Madrid and another Nike player. Real's newest signing Daniel Carvajal was presented to their supporters on Friday and the young right back was donning a pair of Light Bone/Volt/Blue Nike Tiempo Legend IV's, the boot's newest colour update.

Connor Roberts (Northampton Town) Nike CTR 360 Maestri III

Whilst in Novigrad, Croatia for a spot of pre-season prep, Northampton Town FC's Connor Roberts was spotted with a pair of blacked out Nike CTR 360 Maestri III's. However these weren't from Nike recent Black collection but a cheeky Nike iD job.

Samuel Piette (Canada) adidas Nitrocharge 1.0

Canada's Samuel Piette was spotted rocking the adidas Nitrocharge 1.0 against Martinique during the first round of the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup at the Rose Bowl on Sunday. The Defensive Midfielder was looking sharp in the the Black/Silver/Electricity colourway.
