The Pick Of The Best Boots From The Week's Action.

Another week of pre-season, another week of friendlies and another week of transfer speculation. The season is edging closer and closer, it's in touching distance, reach out, touch it, it feels good doesn't it! The wait is almost over but in the meantime here's the latest batch of boot spots from the week's action...

Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) adidas 11Pro

The big boot spotting news from this week has been Steven Gerrard playing in the adidas 11Pro rather than the famous Predator, but we've been told by adidas that this is only a temporary move. Basically Stevie G had some slight rubbing issues with his custom made Preds, so the brand sent out a pair of 11Pro boots to Thailand for him to complete the rest of Liverpool's tour. Gerrard will be back in the Pred in time for the new Premier League season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Paris Saint Germain) Nike HyperVenom

Yep, this is Zlatan Ibrahimovic wearing what is basically a bikini. If Zlatan wants to wear a bikini, Zlatan will wear a bikini. He's the only male on earth that can stand in a stadium full of people dressed like that (by choice) and make everyone else feel insecure. Embrace it. He certainly is. Ibra is one of a group of players that has switched into the HyperVenom and he was wearing his personalised pair as PSG lost 1-0 to Real Madrid in Sweden.

Marcel Tisserand (Monaco) adidas f50 adizero Custom

Money bags Monaco made a trip to Leicester City on Saturday for a pre-season friendly. Amongst all the new high profile signings on show was youth team defender Marcel Tisserand. With most of the Monaco squad on boot contracts Tisserand has taken to miadidas to design his footwear; a quality looking pair of white and red f50's to perfectly match his team's home kit. For the record Monaco ran out 3-0 winners.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto (Tottenham Hotspur) Under Armour CBN Blur III

Benoit Assou-Ekotto is a strange one, he's worn odd boots, claims to not really like football, has no idea who Spurs' new signing Paulinho is and is the proud owner of a magnificent afro. Last season Ekotto was wearing a unique pair of gold Under Armour boots but now the Tottenham full back has moved into the new colourway of the Carbon Blur III to kick off the 2013/14 season.

Iago Aspas (Liverpool) Nike CTR360 Maestri III

New Liverpool signing Iago Aspas has impressed so far during the Reds' pre-season tour of Thailand. Aspas has been amongst the goals and was on the scoresheet again as Liverpool beat the Thai national team 3-0 at the weekend. When it comes to Aspas' boots the Spanish forward has been wearing a pair of green CTR's that look to have been hit with the black marker. Aspas has coloured in the toe section of the boot for some reason. Maybe his pen ran out.

Cathrine Dekkerhus (Norway) adidas Predator PowerSwerve

The Euro 2013 Women's Championships have come to an end with Germany clinching their sixth consecutive title. Cathrine Dekkerhus was part of the runner up Norwegian team and throughout the tournament she's been wearing a classic Predator. The PowerSwerve was the last Pred to feature a tongue and Dekkerhus must have stocked up on them when they came out in 2007. We know a lot of players who'd do anything to get their hands on a pair.

Yannick Bolasie (Crystal Palace) PUMA V1.11 SL

Yannick Bolasie is a bit of a boots spotting legend, we'd love to see his full collection, we reckon the Palace man has a bigger shoe collection that most WAGs. We've seen him wear the Nike GS this week as well as this pair of PUMA V1.11 SL boots and with Palace back in the Premier League we're hoping to see more of Bolasie's boots in the spotlight throughout the season.

Ashley Chambers (York City) Nike HyperVenom

You might have heard by now that Nike brought out a boot this summer by the name of the 'HyperVenom'. Think we've mentioned it a couple of times... Anyway, as all of Nike's athletes have been wearing the orange colourway, it's interesting to see which colourway players who aren't contracted will opt for and York City's Ashley Chambers has slipped into the second release paint job which, to be honest, we reckon looks better on pitch than the launch colourway.

Anthony Knockaert (Leicester City) adidas f50 adizero

The recent black/white/infrared f50 colourway is, in our opinion, one of the best f50 colourways yet but has been a rare sight on the professional scene. Black speed boots always receive huge attention when they're launched but rarely receive decent player support at the very top level. Go down a level and you get more players making their own choice of boots, you get to see which boots players actually favour and Leicester's Anthony Knockaert obviously knows a good looking boot when he sees one.

Scott Brown (Celtic) Nike CTR360 Maestri III

The new Nike CTR was released as part of a new 'Stealth Pack' containing blacked out versions of all their silos and as of yet hasn't received much on pitch player support. Understandably brands want their contracted players to wear brighter boots that stand out but Celtic's Scott Brown isn't having that, he's a no nonsense, tough tackling player and the new CTR colourway is right up his street.
