The pick of the week's best football boots from across the globe.

Monday's box office show-down might have disappointed but it did give us a fresh pair of boots to cast our eyes over. RVP stole the bootspotting headlines as the second week of EPL action kicked-off. Elsewhere there were high profile boot switches and custom colourways for good measure.

Robin Van Persie (Manchester United) miadidas F50 adizero

It looks like Robin Van Persie can't quite get over his love for the adiPower Predator. Despite having started the season in the standard edition F50 adizero, the Man Untied striker was seemingly waiting on his Predator/F50 hybrid boots to arrive. These aren't just a neat miadidas colourway created for the Dutchman. They've been custom built to meet RVP's very particular requirements. An adiPower sole-plate along with custom stitching make these a one-off RVP F50 that should keep him happy for a while.

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) Nike HyperVenom Phantom

Like all of Nike's top athletes, Wayne Rooney's boots aren't like yours or mine. They're custom built to his exact specifications. Often this means some exclusive customisation with the sole-plate. As we're sure you've noticed, Wayne's HyperVenom outsole isn't orange. The black sole-plate looks to have the same SG-Pro stud configuration but it's hard to detail exactly what's going on.

David Nugent (Leicester) adidas f50 adizero Messi

Leicester City striker David Nugent slipped into a fresh pair of adidas Messi F50 boots for his sides Championship match with Birmingham City. The F50 regular had been playing in the previous generation Red/White/Blue adizero but obviously fancied a change for the new season. We're with you on this one David, if you can pull them off they look great on pitch.

Kevin Davies (Preston North End) adidas F50 adizero

Kevin Davies felt the full force of the adidas Nitrocharge this weekend courtesy of Billy Daniels who's size nines make this one of our favourite pictures from the weekend's action. The former Bolton striker has been wearing the F50 adizero since his move to Preston North End after a long stint in the adiPure line. Shaving a few extra grams off his footwear might help those trusty 36-year-old legs.

Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) adidas Nitrocharge

The Steven Gerrard boot saga continued at Villa Park on Saturday. The Liverpool skipper asked adidas if he could test the new Nitrocharge silo in a competitive game and adidas duly obliged. There's no questioning that Stevie G is the Reds' engine, his box to box play is what the Nitrocharge is deemed to be all about but we've been told from the top that he's just intrigued by the boot and wanted to test it. We'll be able to find out what he thought of them by seeing what he laces up in against United on Sunday.

Wilfried Bony (Swansea) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

Swansea's record signing Wilfried Bony kicked off his Premier League career with a goal against Man United as well as notching a couple in the Europa League. Bony has began life in the EPL wearing a blacked out Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII. We've seen this technique used by Hatem Ben Arfa to create the ultimate low key boot that's almost unrecognisable on pitch.

Hassan Al Haidos (Al Sadd) Nike iD Mercurial Vapor IX

Real Madrid hammered Al Saad 5-0 on Thursday night to lift the Bernabeu Trophy, oh yes, the big one, but it wasn't CR7's Mercurials we had our eyes on. Al Saad's Hassan Al Haidos was laced up in a pair of tasty looking custom Nike Mercurial Vapor IX boots as his side were crushed by a Real side that included Raul. As far as Nike iD jobs go we reckon Al Haidos' effort is a pretty decent one.

Jefferson (US Latina Calcio) adidas Predator LZ SL

The adidas Predator LZ SL is a boot that got very little on pitch time in the professional game but US Latina Calcio's Jefferson was rocking a pair at the weekend as his side lost 3-1 to Empoli. A super lightweight version of the current LZ generation has been recently launched but again will receive very little player support. A lighter version of one of the best boots in the game, Jefferson's boot choice may be unique but he's got a top pair of boots on his feet.

Zak Whitbread (Leicester) Nike iD CTR360 Maestri III

Rather than wear someone else's unique pair of boots like his teammate Nugent, big Leicester defender Zak Whitbread has taken to NikeiD to create his own. Whitbread has designed a white/black/blue pair of CTR360 Maestri III boots which he was wearing as his side beat Birmingham 3-2 in the Championship on Saturday.
