Global Boot Spotting - 12/08/13
Kickstart your week with a fresh serving of SB boot spotting.

The pick of the best boot spotting action from a week where Manchester United lifted the Community Shield, pre-season friendly campaigns come to a close and clubs all over Europe get stuck into competitive football. It's Monday, it's SoccerBible boot spotting. Kick off your week by finding out who made the cut...

Angelo Henriquez (Manchester United) Nike HyperVenom

Young United forward Angelo Henriquez got a run out at Old Trafford on Friday night for Rio Ferdinand's testimonial. Henriquez took to the turf wearing the latest HyperVenom stealth colourway although Sevilla spoiled the party with a 3-1 victory over Rio's men.

Roberto Soldado (Tottenham Hotspur) adidas f50 adizero

Club record signing Roberto Soldado scored on his Spurs debut at White Hart Lane on Saturday. The £26m striker netted a penalty in a 1-1 draw with Espanyol wearing a pair of blackout adidas f50 boots. If Bale is heading to Madrid then Soldado will have to be in fine form next season if Spurs want to land a Champions League spot. Start as you mean to go on Roberto...

Jonas (Valencia) Mizuno Morelia Neo

It's another season in Mizuno for Jonas. The Valencia midfielder is one of the lead players in the Japanese brand and he was laced up in the bright orange Neo colourway as his side recorded their third consecutive pre-season victory with a 2-1 win against Olympiakos.

Vital Kibuk (FC Minsk) adidas 11Pro SL

The adidas 11Pro SL is a seriously good looking boot that doesn't get the on pitch support it deserves. FC Minsk's Vital Kibuk knows a good boot when he sees one and he was kitted up in a pair as his team knocked Scotland's St Johnstone out of the Europa League on penalties. Standard Liege are up next for the boys from Belarus.

Gary Roberts (Chesterfield) adidas f50 adizero

Look further down the lower leagues and you always see a few interesting boots spots. Players that aren't contracted to brands have a license to do what they want and that's exactly what Chesterfield's Gary Roberts has done, creating a slick pair of custom f50's. After losing to Leeds in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday Roberts ended the week on a high by scoring in a 2-0 win over Cheltenham.

Aziz Behich (Melbourne Heart) Nike Mercurial Vapor XV R9

There's only 1,998 pairs of Nike Mercurial XV boots on the planet and while 99% of them will be locked up in presentation cabinets Aziz Behich is using them for what they were made for. The Melbourne Heart player joins only James McClean as the only players we've spotted wearing them on the professional scene.

Billy Daniels (Coventry City) adidas Nitrocharge 1.0

Whilst most Coventry City fans boycotted their clubs first game at their temporary home at Northampton Town the few fans that did attended were treated to a cracker of a game. Coventry fought off a Bristol City comeback to snatch a 5-4 win with Billy Daniels scoring the all important winner in a pair of black/silver/electricity adidas Nitrocharge boots.

Javier Acuna (Watford) Nike GS2

Watford's Javier Acuna has kicked off his season wearing the Nike GS2. A limited edition boot from last season the GS2 weighed just 160g making it Nike's lightest ever football boot. Worn at the time of release by the likes of Hazard, Ribery, El Shaarawy and Gotze we reckon Watford's Paraguayan could have the last active pair in circulation in the professional game.

Matthew Upson (Brighton) adidas Copa Mundial

Matt Upson's new season boot decision is normally quite a quick process, the ex-England defender has been wearing adidas Copa Mundials or World Cups for almost a decade and that's a tribute to the quality of the boots. Upson has added a mixed sole plate to his Copas for added traxion. When you're wearing one of the greatest boots the game has ever seen then why change it?
