Hilarious NBC Ad For New EPL Season
American Football Coach Lands the Tot'num Hotspur Job.

The Premier League is already hugely popular in the USA and the recent acquisition of its US broadcasting rights by NBC shows just that. Now the television network has come up with a hilarious way to bring new American fans to the beautiful game with their new "An American Coach in London" video.

The video, which has already notched up over a million YouTube hits, features Saturday Night Live's Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, a mustachioed, visor wearing, American Football coach who has been employed as the new "Tot'num Hotspur" manager. The resulting video is an extremely funny mash up of Soccer-American Football comparisons as the confused coach tries to get to grips with the English game. Ties and no playoffs? My job just got a lot easier.

The advert is mainly filmed at Spurs' Enfield training ground and features a host of players including Gareth Bale who's Welsh roots prompt an amusing snipe at how many countries lie within Great Britain. Plenty of comparisons have been made between the two sports in the past but none rarely do it as well as this and certainly not with such a hilarious outcome, hopefully there are follow ups to come...

What do you think of NBC's newest campaign?
