Premier League Stars Signed PUMA Boots
Vidic, Aguero and Giroud signed PUMA football boots.
A big fat PUMA branded package greeted us on arrival at SoccerBible HQ yesterday morning, the boys and girls at PUMA often sort us out with decent memorabilia and this time they've given us an in depth look at some of their top Premier League players' signed boots.
PUMA have acquired a seriously impressive player line up in recent years including, Cesc Fabregas, Yaya Toure, Falcao and Michael Carrick but the boots on show here are Sergio Aguero Olivier Giroud's evoSPEED's and Nemanja Vidic's customised PUMA PowerCat 1.12 boots. Each signed pair are the made specifically to the player's needs, same size, same modifications.
The pick of the bunch belong to Man United's skipper. Nemanja Vidic's PowerCat SL boots have been modified by the player's request with a standard PUMA King soleplate. It's not uncommon for footballers to make subtle changes to their footwear to get it just right and Vidic obviously prefers the conical studs and heel support of the King over the PowerCat's bladed soleplate.
Topped off with his scribble on the big cat Vidic's boots are personalised with his name and United squad number, 15. A big season lies ahead for United and Vidic and they got off to the best possible start by spanking four past Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.
Sergio Aguero opened his goalscoring account last night as Man City ran riot against Newcastle. The Argentine scored one of the Premier League's most famous goals wearing PUMA when he dramatically clinched the league title for City in 2012 and he's gone on to bang in goals for fun wearing PUMA's latest speed boot - the evoSPEED. Good chance that these will squeeze their way onto our wall of fame.
Another player to score in his side's opening game of the season was Olivier Giroud, the Arsenal frontman scored his team's only goal in a 3-1 defeat to Villa. Giroud, who signed terms with the brand in 2009 will have to be in red hot form if Arsenal fail to land any of their transfer targets.
What do you make of Vidic's modifications? Let us know if you've managed to get your hands on any signed boots.
