Big Tommy Hudds was in action with new club Hull at the weekend wearing adidas Nitrocharge, the ex-Spurs man had been wearing the Nike Tiempo but he's become the latest of a group of curious players to try out the boot aimed at central midfielders. Bonus spot of his TruSox too, which are fast becoming an essential piece of kit amongst Premier League footballers.

Darren Bent (Fulham) Nike HyperVenom

Fulham have given Darren Bent another crack at Premier League football this transfer window and the former England man was in action at St James' Park wearing the lime/black Nike HyperVenom as Fulham lost 1-0. Bent was a long serving Umbro player but since the brand's re-jig he's made a brief appearance in the Mercurial before lacing up in the new silo.

Catania midfielder Sergio Almiron is one of a few players that have started to wear the Lotto Solista since it's launch. Football's first reflective boot has attracted a few admirers, especially in Serie A and with good reason too, the reflective aspect is interesting but comfort and performance wise it's a top boot.

Udinese's Naldo was another player in Serie A that grabbed our attention at the weekend, the Brazilian was wearing a custom Nike iD pair of blacked out CTR's in his side's 3-1 win over Parma. We've seen more and more custom jobs this season with players looking to give themselves a unique look.

Thomas van Renterghem (HSV Hoek) Nike T90 Laser II

The Dutch Cup kicked off this week with the lower league teams battling it out before the big boys join in. The pick of the boot spotting action came from Thomas van Renterghem who plays for HSV Hoek in Holland's fourth tier. Van Renterghem has wearing a pair of Nike T90 Laser II boots, originally released in 2008.

Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) adidas Predator LZ

After wearing the 11Pro and the Nitrocharge Steven Gerrard was back in the adidas Predator this weekend as Liverpool beat Man United. The LFC skipper had a slight rubbing issue with his boots but that now looks to be resolved. It wouldn't be Liverpool vs United without a few clashes and it didn t take a genius to lip read what RVP and Stevie G thought about each other.

After announcing he had officially signed for Umbro during the week Steven Fletcher gave his Geometra 2 boots a scoring debut as he notched Sunderland's only goal in a 3-1 defeat to Premier League new boys Crystal Palace. Umbro are slowly re-building a new squad of players after the brand's overhaul.
