Global Boot Spotting - 16/09/13
The pick of the week's best football boots from across the globe.

Domestic football made a welcomed return at the weekend as transfer deadline day signings made their delayed debuts for their new clubs. As always we've selected the pick of the week's boot spotting action in a weekend where new players and new colourways took the headlines...

Roberto Soldado (Tottenham Hotspur) adidas F50 adizero

Roberto Soldado laced up in the new electricity F50 as Spurs saw off Norwich at White Hart Lane. Soldado had previously worn a completely blacked out pair of F50's so the switch into the new colourway is either a bold move by the player himself or he's been nudged by adidas.

Samuel Eto'o (Chelsea) PUMA evoSPEED 1.2

Samuel Eto'o made his Premier League debut at Everton on Saturday evening wearing his evoSPEED 1.2 boots. The long term PUMA player has been banging in goals his entire career wear PUMA boots but he couldn't hit a barn door at Goodison Park as Chelsea slumped to a 1-0 defeat.

Jordan Clarke (Coventry City) NIKEiD CTR360 Maestri III

Coventry's Jordan Clarke has given his CTR's the iD treatment but rather than, like some players, designing a boot that matches his club's home colours, the Sky Blues defender has created a red/white pair that combined with his green laces create a boot that stands out on pitch.

Adnan Januzaj (Manchester United) Nike HyperVenom

On a weekend where Marouane Fellaini made his United debut it was another Belgian who earned the plaudits at Old Trafford. 18 year old winger Adnan Januzaj impressed as United beat Crystal Palace 2-0 and his boot choice was equally as impressive, stealth pack HyperVenoms. It's rare to see youngsters in black boots these days as they all look to catch the eye but Januzaj is letting his football do the talking.

Mesut Özil (Arsenal) adidas Predator LZ

Arsenal's new record signing Mesut Ozil made his debut for the Gooners at Sunderland and it took him just 11 minutes to open his assist account by teeing up Olivier Giroud for the opener. Ozil who is now the Premier League's second most expensive signing was wearing the latest adidas Predator LZ colourway.

Oriel Riera (Osasuna) Mizuno Morelia Neo

Osasuna's Oriel Riera was wearing, what is in our opinion, one of the best looking and performing boots on the market. The Mizuno Morelia Neo in this white/black/blue colourway is one of the releases of the year for us. The Neo is one of the most underrated boots in the game and Riera knows it. Good to see more Mizuno boots deservedly getting game time at the top.

Miguel Ibarra (Minnesota United) NIKEiD Mercurial Vapor IX

Minnesota United's Miguel Ibarra has been busy whipping up a pair of unique Mercurials to match his team's kit colours. Ibarra was in action for Minnesota United against the famous New York Cosmos currently plying their trade in the North American Soccer League.

Mark Noble (West Ham United) adidas Nitrocharge 1.0

The new adidas Nitrocharge colourway is making a big impact on pitch, all red boots always have a strong presence especially when worn with a non red kit like West Ham's Mark Noble in yesterday's snorefest of a 'Super' Sunday against Southampton. The latest colourway is joins an already top collection of paint jobs in the brand's latest silo.

Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX

Diego Costa was on the scoresheet at the weekend as Atletico Madrid beat Almeria 4-2. The Atletico striker has blacked out his volt Mercurial IX boots with a permanent marker and further disguised them with a pair of green laces. Perhaps a brand switch is on the horizon for Diego Costa? If not he's made a catastrophic mess of his boots.
