We speak to adidas Global Senior Product Manager Antoine Hadjimanolis about football's first reflective boot pack.
We recently sat down with adidas Global Senior Product Manager Antoine Hadjimanolis to discuss the new adidas 'Enlightened Pack' - football's first reflective boot pack. Speaking to us at adidas' Global HQ in Germany, Herzogenaurach we grabbed a few words about the surprise launch.
This week adidas will use the Champions League to launch the special edition 'Enlightened Pack'. It's a unique product launch that has everyone talking. Antoine explained, "It's the first time we're bringing a four-silo pack with reflective technology. It is a big story for us and there is a lot of excitement around this."
Reflective boot technology is an area adidas have explored before, launching the adizero Smoke Spotlight American football cleats in 2012. "We've had the technology available for a little while and now we've decided to go all in and put it on the field of play."
The adidas Enlightened Pack uses reflective exposure innovation on the stripes and laces of the boots to capture and rebound the light of floodlights and cameras to create a unique display of visuals. With the amount of adidas' players competing in the Champions League it should make for a pretty dominant on-pitch presence.
The Enlightened Pack drops across all four adidas football footwear silos: adizero F50; Predator; Nitrocharge and 11Pro. Each pair features an all black base on which the reflective details are placed upon. The famous three stripes, laces and adidas logo will all reflect light making the Enlightened Pack truly unique.
"For each of these silos, we have reflective stripes and refelctive laces. If you turn off the lights, obviosuly (the boots are) very tonal. You see grey, silver stripes and silver laces. Under the spotlight and under the flash the technology comes to life."
Europe s top players will debut the reflective technology in a one off appearance during the forthcoming Champions League matches on the 22nd 23rd October. "We were the first brand to bring it into sport and this time we're bringing it to football for the biggest and most impactful package on the Champions League night."
