Global Boot Spotting - 18/11/13
The pick of the week's best football boots from across the globe.

On an international weekend where French World Cup hopes hang in the balance, CR7 went one nil up on Zlatan and England lost on a Chile night at Wembley we take a look at the football boots that grabbed our attention. From limited editions to brand new silos, you know the drill.

Walter Ayovi (Ecuador) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX CR7 Galaxy

Having already qualified for the World Cup next summer Ecuador were in friendly action against fellow South Americans Argentina at the weekend. The game ended 0-0 but threw up a few interesting boot spots including Walter Ayovi wearing the CR Galaxy Mercurials.

Frank Lampard (England) adidas 11Pro adiPURE

Frank Lampard has worn the adiPURE range for the best part of his career and he lead out a weakened England team at Wembley on Friday night wearing the new Samba editions. It was a night to forget for the Three Lions though as they were outclassed by Chile who ran out 2-0 winners.

Maya Yoshida (Japan) Mizuno Wave Ignitus III

Japan continued their World Cup preparations with a convincing 2-2 draw with Holland on Saturday. Maya Yoshida was wearing his normal Mizuno Wave Ignitus III boots but for international duty he had personalised the heel with the Japanese flag and his initials.

Tom Ince (England U21) Warrior Superheat

After headlining the launch of Warrior's debut speed boot Thomas Ince slipped into the new blue/yellow colourway for the first time as England U21's beat Finland 3-0. Ince had been wearing a blacked out version of the Superheat for Blackpool earlier this season but revealed the new boot at Stadium MK on Thursday night.

Alexander Dominguez (Ecuador) Nike Mercurial Vapor VI

Another Ecuador player that caught our eye at the weekend was Alexander Dominguez. The Ecuadorian shot stopper was laced up in the black/circuit orange/black Mercurial Vapor VI as he kept a clean sheet against Argentina. Originally launched in late 2010 the Vapor VI was the last Mercurial to feature a lace cover.

Arjen Robben (Holland) adidas adizero F50

Arjen Robben got on the scoresheet in a 2-2 draw with Japan wearing his new adidas adizero F50's on Saturday. The Bayern Munich winger opted for the solar zest colourway of the new generation F50, a perfect match for the famous orange Holland kit.

Bakary Sako (Wolves) NikeiD HyperVenom

Bakary Sako has been the stand out player in League One this season, his performances for Wolves have attracted the attention of Premier League clubs but it's his custom NikeiD HyperVenoms that have our attention. The simplistic white/black colourway puts it up there with some of the best iD efforts we've seen this season.

Patrick Gerhardt (Melbourne Heart) adidas adizero RS7 II

The adidas RS7 is rugby's answer to the adizero F50, either Patrick Gerhardt isn't aware of that or he just prefers the design. Despite being released as a rugby boot the RS7 is fit for football and occasionally pops up on the professional scene. The boot features longer stripes than the F50 and retains the super lightweight technology.

Tim Cahill (Australia) Warrior Skreamer

Tim Cahill signed for Warrior last month and took just 7 whole seconds to bag his first goal wearing his new boots for New York Red Bulls. The former Everton midfielder has been training in the latest Skreamer colourway ahead of Australia's friendly with Costa Rica tomorrow.

Enner Valencia (Ecuador) Nike Mercurial Vapor XV

We'll be keeping an eye on Ecuador in Brazil next summer. Completing a hat trick of boot spots for his country against Argentina was Enner Valencia wearing the limited edition Nike Mercurial Vapor XV. Just 1998 pairs of the boots were launched to celebrate 15 years since R9 wore the originals at the 1998 World Cup.

Steve McManaman (Liverpool Legends) adidas Copa Mundial

Liverpool legend Steve McManaman was in action for... well, Liverpool Legends against Kaizer Chiefs Legends in South Africa at the weekend. The ex-Real Madrid midfielder was amongst the majority of his slightly older and slightly heavier ex-Reds wearing the old school adidas Copa Mundial.

Lucas Orban (Argentina) adidas Predator adiPower

Bordeaux left back Lucas Orban was handed his International debut for Argentina at the weekend. As Di Maria and Maxi Rodriguez laced up in the solar pink Samba Edition Pred LZ's Orban was reaching for his adiPowers. The blue/electricity launch colourway was released in May 2011 as adidas' 11th generation Predator.

Sergio Romero (Argentina) Nike HyperVenom

Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero has given his black/lime Nike Hypervenoms the black pen treatment to create the ultimate stealth looking boot. We've seen a number of players do this since the launch of the HyperVenom, some players have done it well, some badly and Romero's colouring in skills sit somewhere in the middle.
