In Focus | The New adidas F50 adizero
We speak to adidas Global Senior Product Manager Antoine Hadjimanolis about the next generation F50 adizero.
Taking centre stage in the adidas Samba Collection is the all new, redesigned adizero F50. As with any new boot, every small tech aspect is designed deliberately and we sat down with adidas Global Senior Product Manager Antoine Hadjimanolis who talked us through the design process of the next generation speed silo.
Antoine goes into detail on the new tech discussing Hybridtouch, Dribbletex and the improved stud configuration as well as where the journey of a new boot starts and who has a say in the design and development of the product.
On the objectives adidas had for the new F50 Antoine explains "The new adizero is a much sleeker design, we wanted to simplify the look of the boot to make it outstanding in terms of visibility and we've added a few technologies with it."
Antoine continues "Every time we bring out a new football boot the development cycle is 24 months, it starts with the adidas innovation team (AIT), they're the scientists behind every single boot and they come up with the technology."
When creating a new boot adidas seek input from a number of sources and Antoine tells us that adidas work with designers and with the development side to pinpoint the look and feel of the product. On player input Antoine informs us "We've been testing it as well, very early, players like Benzema and Bale have been testing the boot and we incorporate all the feedback from the players within the development."
