We chat adidas and the new F50 with Tottenham's Spanish Striker.

We recently caught up with Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado behind the scenes at the Samba UK photo-shoot in Manchester. Chatting about his career long relationship with adidas and his idols as a young footballer, Soldado also told us why he'll be sticking with his new generation adizero F50 boots.

Roberto Soldado started his career at Real Madrid joining the Spanish giants age 15. It was around this time that he also joined the adidas family says Soldado. "I think I was 15 or 16 years old when I started working with adidas and I hope to stay with them for the rest of my career. It's part of my job but I feel like I'm part of the family."

As a teenager there was one particular adidas sponsored player he looked up to, influencing his decision to join the German brand. "The adidas icon was RaÚl, for me he's been my idol since I was young, as he was for every young player in Spain and he worked with adidas. My dream was to be like him."

On the subject of the new generation adidas F50 adizero boots, Soldado was full of praise for their high levels of comfort from the off. "Each year the boots get better. I absolutely love the new stuff from adidas, I have been wearing these boots for 3 hours and they feel like slippers you can play in...I'm definitely using these new ones from now.

Roberto Soldado has switched to the new adidas F50 adizero football boots, have you? Let us know.
