Part three of our exclusive mini-series. We speak to the Arsenal midfielder about his role as a playmaker.

In the final part of our exclusive mini-series with Arsenal midfielder Mesut Özil, we talk to the German international about his role as a playmaker, how he grew into the position, and who for him is the greatest playmaker of all time.

Pass by pass Özil has become one of the world's best creative midfielder players, registering more assists in the last two years than any other European player. Last season, nobody made more key passes per game than the Gelsenkirchen-born playmaker.

"When I was young I scored a lot. I was always the player that took the ball from the defence to the strikers. When I played for Schalke I played in a playmaker position and I felt comfortable. From then on I always played as a playmaker."

"In the past I always watched Zidane play because he was the most complete player of all time. He played as an attacking midfielder or a defensive midfielder. That's why Zidane is my idol because he was the most complete player of all time."

In part two (above) we spoke to the Arsenal midfielder about his summer move to the Emirates and how he's settling into life at his new club. "I've felt very comfortable from the beginning because the atmosphere is similar to the one in my family. Everybody is supporting each other and you feel comfortable straight away.

"Three Stripes for Mesut Özil" - That was the major headline for adidas this summer. In part one (above) we discussed his move to adidas and why he chose the Predator LZ. "I chose the Predator immediately. When I was testing the boots I felt that they were perfect for me, I think the Predator is the best boot in the world."
