Global Boot Spotting - 02/12/13
The pick of the week's best football boots from across the globe.

As the football season enters December, tables are starting to take shape, managers are beginning to drop and talk of the transfer window has begun. On the pitch, the boot merry-go-round is still in full swing and it was another week of boot switches, limited edition appearances and new colourways...

Keisuke Honda (CSKA Moscow) Mizuno Wave Ignitus 3

Keisuke Honda gave an on pitch debut to the latest Mizuno Wave Ignitus 3 colourway in midweek. Honda's bright orange Ignitus boots stood out on the Russian snow as CSKA Moscow lost 3-1 in the Champions League to Bayern Munich. Honda did manage to get himself on the scoresheet with 62nd minute penalty.

James McClean (Wigan) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX CR Galaxy

James McClean was a regular in boot spotting last season, his love of a limited edition boot grabbed our attention each weekend and the Wigan midfielder has extended his collection by picking up Cristiano Ronaldo's latest signature boot - the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX CR Galaxy which he wore against Derby on Sunday.

Ranko Despotovic (Sydney FC) NikeID Mercurial Vapor VIII

Ranko Despotovic caught our eye in the A-League this weekend by wearing a custom pair of Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII boots. The Sydney forward has given his boots a simplistic white/red colourway and came off the bench to seal his side's 2-0 win over Newcastle Jets.

Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich) adidas F50 adizero

Since the launch of the adidas Samba pack Thomas Muller has switched into the new generation F50. Perhaps he's just not a fan of the solar pink Predator or maybe he simply fancies the feel of the lighter F50, all may be revealed when the next Pred LZ paint job lands.

Linda O'Neil (Western Sydney Wanderers) adidas Predator adiPower

Sometimes you just need to see an old boot in action to remember how good it was and this was the case with Linda O'Neil's adidas Predator adiPower. The Western Sydney Wanderers player was wearing the traditional black/white/red combo, Pred perfection for many players and something that fans are demanding to return to the famous silo.

Kyle Naughton (Tottenham Hotspur) Mizuno Morelia Neo

After officially signing with Mizuno in the week Kyle Naughton was in Europa League action wearing the latest Morelia Neo colourway against Norwegian outfit Tromso. The Spurs full back had been wearing the brand all season but made things official earlier this week before wearing the black/lime Neo as Tottenham sealed qualification to the knockout stages.

Gael Clichy (Manchester City) PUMA evoSPEED 1.2

Gael Clichy looked like he'd raided the Etihad Stadium's lost property box at the weekend. The City full back was wearing odd evoSPEED's, one of which he'd taped up at the front of the boot. You're guess is as good as ours on this one, but one thing's for sure, the boy needs a new pair of boots!

Milos Krasic (Bastia) PUMA V1.06

Milos Krasic gave us a blast from the past at the weekend as Bastia beat Evian 2-0 in Ligue 1. Krasic laced up and scored in an old pair of silver/grass camo PUMA V1.06 boots, originally released in 2005. Eight years old and still going strong, fair to say Krasic has looked after them.

Andros Townsend (Tottenham Hotspur) Nike Mercurial Vapor XV

Andros Townsend surprised everyone by wearing the limited edition Nike Mercurial Vapor XV against Tromso on Thursday night. Only 1,998 pairs were launched to celebrate 15 years since Ronaldo wore the originals in the 1998 World Cup. Most pairs that were purchased have been kept as collectors items but Townsend demonstrated how good they can look on pitch.

Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United) Warrior Gambler

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini gave us all a first glimpse of the new Warrior Gambler since it's reveal in midweek. Fellaini was an unused substitute on United's 2-2 draw with Spurs on Sunday but was seen warming up in the new white/yellow Gambler.

Jonjo Shelvey (Swansea) miadidas Predator LZ

Jonjo Shelvey obviously isn't impressed with the new Samba solar pink Pred LZ. The Swansea man has gone completely the other way with his boots by toning them right down with a blackout vibe. If it is the bright colourway that made Shelvey take matters into his own hands then we're guessing he's not a big fan of Swansea's away kit either...
