We lace up to put the new generation 11Pro through its paces.

Changing rooms are now full of colourful, synthetic boots featuring more technology than ever, but is there still space for the classic, heritage football boot? The latest generation adiPure 11Pro is currently worn by some of the world's top players so we thought it was time to lace up and see for ourselves.

Since it's introduction in 2007 the adiPure line has steadily gone about its business, not the flashiest boot, nor is it the most technologically advanced, but with classic design and premium materials many have made it their boot of choice.

FIT | The adiPure 11Pro sees the introduction of memory foam in the forefoot to provide a custom level of comfort over time, it's not something you immediately notice but after a few wears the adiPure immediately feels like a boot designed to offer that next level of comfort. For those of you who are used to wearing the likes of the adizero or the Nike Mercurial it's quite an experience.

When it comes to support and a locked down fit the adiPure was lacking a little, in our play test the heel tended to have quite a bit of movement, possibly due to the smooth lining on the inside of the boot. As you would expect from a boot designed around comfort our test didn't result in any soreness or rubbing on the foot, but the extra level of comfort means the boot is slightly less responsive than others on the market.

Everybody has their own preference when it comes to fit, some size up and some cram their feet in to the smallest size possible. The Taurus leather upper and memory foam combine to offer a true to size feel so we wouldn't say there is a need to move away from your usual size. Those with a wider foot will be pleased also as the adiPure is generous in width and the leather will also give a little with wear.

PERFORMANCE | The quilted upper on the adiPure provides a large clean strike zone, as Frank Lampard has shown us over the years the adiPure is a great boot for striking the ball cleanly and with accuracy. Now don't go getting any wild ideas and expect your goal tally to rocket but the adiPure is going to give you a great boot for striking the ball.

We've seen adidas stick with the tried and tested sprintframe in recent years, but the adiPure features a new comfortframe. Designed to offer more support, and help contribute to the overall comfort of the adiPure the comfortframe does a great job of distributing pressure across your foot, providing a very stable base thanks in part to the redesigned stud configuration. It's also worth pointing out that the new adiPure does not contain space for the miCoach Speed Cell, an interesting omission from adidas. The FG plate held up well, even in muddy conditions and the comfortframe is a fitting addition to the adiPure line, providing top level comfort and stability.

As we previously mentioned when speaking about the fit, the adiPure can feel a little unresponsive at times. The memory foam and quilted leather provide great levels of comfort but maybe sacrifice a little bit of touch and finesse. Overall the adiPure is a well made, premium football boot and fans of the adiPure line will not be disappointed with the latest generation.

For anybody looking for a leather boot that will provide protection and great durability look no further. The adiPure may not be the flagship model for adidas but it's a great option for those who love a classic design with a solid all-round performance.
