Stamford Bridge | Illustrated Proposals

With the aim to remodel Chelsea's Stamford Bridge, plans have been unveiled that take traditional inspiration from that of Westminster Abbey.

The proposed plans which have been designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron would see the Gothic inspired stadium hold 60,000 spectators and cost in excess of £500m to come to fruition. Bold plans that would provide the club with an enviable home. Early illustrations leave much to the imagination but more brick work provides a more timeless structure - less perspex more cool - we like that. It's not always about the shine.

Some description

With the illustrations looking somewhere between PSG's 'Parc des Princes' and the 'Bird's Nest' of Beijing, it looks an highly inspired project.
