Marking 25 years since the famous 'Class of '92' began the emergence on the Manchester United scene, adidas marked the occasion with the release of the '92 shoe and brought the famous six together once again.
Also joined by Dwight Yorke and Quentin Fortune, David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Gary Neville and Phil Neville took to Old Trafford once more last week with a retro flavour to proceedings. While adidas have produced the '92 shoe, they have also re-issued the world famous Manchester United away shirt and accompanying track jacket as part of a capsule release that brings back all kinds of style from the archives.
The '92 shoe, which has been released in a limited quantity with just 1,992 pairs available, sees each shoe individually numbered and naturally all players involved in last weeks' event had them touching concrete. The shoe has an upper using material linking back to the original home shirt worn in that year, and the insole also pays homage with a printed pattern taken from the away jersey famously worn by Ryan Giggs. The golden lettering of “Ninety - Two” completes the shoe.
As part of a Q&A where a select number of guests were able to listen to these icons, the class of '92 threw back the years in going over memories of playing at Old Trafford together.
