The USWNT gave a debut to the new Nike 2018 home kit last night as they beat Mexico 4-1 at EverBank Field in Jacksonville thanks to goals from Mallory Pugh, Carli Lloyd, and a brace from Alex Morgan.

The women's side are the first American national team to represent the new home shirt, and they sported their new colours in style as they put in a dominant display against the Mexicans. With the men's side failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, the in-form USWNT were tasked with a deserved first outing in the patriotic home shirt.

The men's team have already worn the 2018 away shirt in their 1-0 win over Paraguay last month, but the hype is firmly on the women's team who were led out by Alex Morgan in Jacksonville last night in front of over 14,000 fans. Three goals in as many second half minutes saw the USWNT race to a four lead goal after Pugh's earlier opener. Katie Johnson chalked up a consolation for Mexico.

Alex Morgan and Lindsey Horan were quick to shout out the new home shirt on their Instagram stories when they entered the dressing rooms before the fixture last night. Those fading stripes in the colours of the American flag looking ultra-strong on pitch. USWNT travel to Mexico next week as part of a friendly double-header.
