Two time NBA MVP Steve Nash is a football fanatic who’s part of the group that bought a controlling stake of RCD Mallorca in 2016, and he sat down recently to talk all things football, from his venture with the Segunda División side and his long-term ambitions for the club to the impact of the game in the States and its continual growth, also touching on the prospect of a La Liga game in Miami.
Before pursuing a career in Basketball, Nash actually could have played football professionally if he had focused on it, but his destiny lay elsewhere. However, his love of football has remained over the years, and with his parents originally hailing from North London he is a die-hard Spurs fan. With his playing career over he has returned to his passion and his roots, though this time in Spain with Real Club Deportivo Mallorca.
