Real Madrid Release Behind-The-Scenes Film of Luka Modric's Ballon d'Or Win

In honour of their Ballon d’Or winning playmaker Luka Modric, Real Madrid have released a behind-the-scenes video of the Croatian travelling to Paris to pick up the prestigious prize at the awards ceremony.

Modric enjoyed an incredible 17/18 season, winning the Champions League for an unprecedented third consecutive time with Real Madrid before helping Croatia to the 2018 World Cup Final. These team achievements were followed up by him picking up the FIFA Men’s Best award at the end of September. The video features footage of Modric preparing for the awards ceremony along with his wife and three nippers, and ends with him sharing his shiny ornament with his Real Madrid teammates.

Luka Modric’s win breaks a decade of domination from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the pair winning five awards a-piece. Nike, as always, have been quick to reward their man with his own pair of Special Edition Mercurial Vapor “Touch of Gold” boots in honour of the win, and Modric has already been spotted training in them. And it's definitely them, unlike the "Best" boots that Nike presented him with following his FIFA award which mysteriously changed in appearance from Nike's unveiling to the Real Madrid training ground...
